HBO on Thursday announced that it will not move forward with a project connected to prominent political journalist Mark Halperins co-authored book on the 2016 election, as another woman came forward to accuse Halperin of sexual misconduct.
HBO is no longer proceeding with the project tied to the untitled book co-authored by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann on the 2016 Presidential election, the network told CNN in a statement. HBO has no tolerance for sexual harassment within the company or its productions.
Five women on Wednesday told CNN that Halperin sexually harassed them while he was working at ABC News. Three of those women accused Halperin of pressing his genitals against them without consent.
Emily Miller, a conservative reporter, tweeted #MeToo of the allegations against Halperin.

Victim card being played in three...two... one.

(58,785 posts)sold out whatever principles they had long ago. And, of course, the show is very popular with inside-the-beltway types.
A real journalist with the WaPo was on...Rachel? the other day and, although otherwise speaking delicately, came right out and stated flatly her belief that the Republican Party that once was no longer exists.
While we were waiting for it to implode, it was taken over.
The problem is that Republican voters, who have no idea who's now controlling them, where they're being lead and what they're enabling--but are loyal nevertheless, do still exist.

(37,648 posts)This one's hard to believe. Is it possible they're conservative, out to kill his book about the 2016 election? Just wondering if it's possible, only because I've watched him for years, and it's hard to accept it because of what he seemed to be.
I guess when there are five, that's pretty definitive. Wow. I'm so disappointed. I totally misread him, if this is true.

(11,841 posts)Its not an "attack"on this woman, its just obviously different than his usual interrogations. I remember when that was on wondering what bug got up his butt. No smiles or anything. Normally he's non-combative in his questioning. Now, you may not think he's being that way and thats perfectly fine. Stuff like this can be seen different ways by different people.
I doubt anything official will happen to him, as in charges, but I imagine he's lost his upcoming deals that he had in the works

(37,648 posts)He did act a little differently during that time.
In MJ, he's usually being asked to give his opinion, and he might have a discussion with another pundit. This woman was no pundit. She was a conservative that he was questioning about something, so that's a different dynamic. He wasn't letting her get away with vague answers or not answering at all.

And now that you mention it, I've had a couple friends who did act differently after they grew a beard too

(37,648 posts)She didn't think it looked good. I agreed with her. I also noticed that he acted a little differently, but I don't remember how. So maybe he was going thru something personal at the time. He apparently has some real problems.
I was hoping he didn't do these assaults & harassments, but he's issued a statement of apology. Wow. He was apparently really sicko.
