Exclusive: First charges filed in Mueller investigation
By Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz, CNN
Updated 8:29 PM ET, Fri October 27, 2017

Washington (CNN)A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter.

The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said. It is unclear what the charges are.
A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.

and this is going to take a long time they are saying on CNN right now. Maybe they are trying to get people to flip. Carl Bernstein thinks Mueller is going after conspiracy/collusion more than obstruction. Also, Mueller may be expecting people to flee the country.

21. a short story about "Carl Bernstein"..and Woodard ...
Fri Oct 27, 2017, 08:59 PM
Oct 2017

Sometime after the Watergate scandal hat hit, Woodard and Bernstein appeared at the University of Chicago law school for a short lecture and answer session. It was open to the public and all were invited. A friend and I went. I don't remember the exact date, but I think their first book had been published. After a short talk, question and answers were allowed.
..I got to ask a question which was simply. .Do you think Nixon was nuts ? They did not answer the question because they said that they could not interpret his actions in that way.......Sometime in 74..I think..

A couple of years after that first book, they wrote a second book. I do not remember the name of that 2nd book, but I recall reading a couple of reviews. Basically the 2nd book stated that towards the last month or two of Nixon's time in the Whitehouse...he had gone nuts, talking to the pictures and walls...

Nixon drank in the evenings so a lot of his actions have been linked to that. I believe he was living with so much guilt that it did indeed effect his mind. He was smart about many things but at the end it caught up with him. I like to think of Poe's The Tell Tale Heart.

But I do recall that after a while, he didn't say much. at least that is what I seem to remember. I don't think he wrote a book about it (I may be wrong) but I do not think he gave many interviews after that one..

But of course, I could be wrong..it was a while ago.. Our family called him Tricky Dick in the 50s..

I got distracted at work and spent all day on Politico and The Hill reading stories about uranium deals, Steele, and Republicans attacking Mueller. Honestly, it made my blood boil because it seemed like a massive hit job of old stories, conspiracy theories, and cover ups. Now it all makes sense, they were desperately trying to deflect before the hammer dropped. People in the comments of these "news" stories kept saying "it seems like they are getting worried", "it seems like they are deflecting" and that turned out to be 100% true. The cathartic feeling I have right now is overwhelming. The Trumpster tears are delicious. They sustain me.

Saturday Night Massacre
The Saturday Night Massacre refers to U.S. President Richard Nixon's orders to fire independent special prosecutor Archibald Cox, which led to the resignations of Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus on October 20, 1973, during the Watergate scandal.
