Trump Campaign Adviser Met With Russian to Discuss 'Dirt' on Clinton

WASHINGTON A professor with close ties to the Russian government told an adviser to Donald J. Trumps presidential campaign in April 2016 that Moscow had dirt on Hillary Clinton in the form of thousands of emails, according to court documents unsealed Monday.
The adviser, George Papadopoulos, has pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I. about that conversation. The plea represents the most explicit evidence connecting the Trump campaign to the Russian governments meddling in last years election.
They have dirt on her, the professor told him, according to the documents. They have thousands of emails.
Mr. Papadopoulos was quietly arrested in July and has since been cooperating with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, records show. Mr. Papadopouloss conversation in April raises more questions about a meeting in June at Trump Tower, where Mr. Trumps eldest son and senior advisers met with Russians who were similarly promising damaging information on Mrs. Clinton.

(4,370 posts)on russian purges..I can't imagine even shaking hands with the
filth. Let alone meet with them on such bs rumors. If cheetos
kicks Mueller out, get ready for another round of "have you
hugged a commy today?" from the white house.

(1,142 posts)I don't think there is any evidence to support he tried to flee
That thread seems to be very speculative, as he was arrested when he returned to Dulles on a flight inbound from Germany according to the updated Washington Post story I quoted there

(17,136 posts)Only half-way through the Papadopoulos indictment but there sure are a lot of "High Ranking Campaign Officials" mentioned. Hope each and every one of them receives a similar indictment.
