Romney To Obama: Let’s Agree Not To Discuss My Business Record

Source: ThinkProgress

Mitt Romney — who has placed his business record at the centerpiece of his presidential campaign — is now asking President Obama to stop discussing his tenure with Bain Capital.

During an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd, the former Massachusetts governor asked Obama to avoid discussing “business or family or taxes or things of that nature”:

“Our campaign would be — helped immensely if we had an agreement between both campaigns that we were only going to talk about issues and that attacks based upon — business or family or taxes or things of that nature.” [...]

“We only talk about issues. And we can talk about the differences between our positions and our opponent’s position.” Romney said of his own campaign: “Our ads haven’t gone after the president personally. … We haven’t dredged up the old stuff that people talked about last time around. We haven’t gone after the personal things.”

In fact, I hope Romney stops fabricating shit about Obama's record and starts talking about it as should ASAP. He'd do us all a favor.

...the asshat thinks he's entitled to the White House.

It's Republican arrogance that will cost them in this election, especially if they stick with the MittWitt.

Then what is it that qualifies you to be President over 300 million other people? I'm not sure after 45 years of viewing and living the results of politics, I can understand this platform, or position.

Let us see; my past business qualifies me to be President, but we can not discuss this. My family knows I am the best candidate for this job, but we should not discuss my past family history. I have the best tax plan based on my business experience, and personal history, of negotiating within the limits of a weasel, combating a fair assessment of paying my way, ...

We can speak of anything else, if it does not infringe upon my lack of qualifications to fulfill the Presidency of the United States, or otherwise display my hypocrisy in my campaign rhetoric.

Anything else Mitt?

How about we discuss Romney's God-awful record as governor and his reliance on the broken-record economics the Republican Party loves? If voodoo economics, which Bush II used, actually worked this country should have so many jobs available everyone can have two or three, one they do to earn a living and a second one they do just because it's fun. (Something like working in a used-record shop or a hot-rod parts manufacturer.)

Because that's what it sounds like he's doing.

Willard, you seem to be suffering from some very strange delusions. There's no restrictions on choke holds, kidney and rabbit punches, crotch kicks, eye gouging or discussion of your tax returns that you so want to hide from us but you'll have no choice but to reveal.

When you say things like "the Democrats will simply pour through my returns until they find something to seize upon" you're admitting there's something there. The Democratic Party is NOT the IRS. We do not have to follow code. We can do anything we want, and we will. There are loopholes in the IRS code that unfairly give advantages to rich people, and Obama's made this a center point in his argument that we need to make America more fair for the middle class.

Welcome to Chicago, mittens. You foolishly stepped into this ring believing there were rules. The moment you decided to hinge your run on an out-of-context gaffe, you gave up all rights to a fair fight. Deal with it, you wimp.
