Carter Page: I may have discussed Russia in emails with Papadopoulos
Source: Politico
Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, said he might have exchanged emails about Russia with a fellow adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the president's campaign and possible collusion with the Russian government.
"It may of come up, yeah," Page told MSNBC's Chris Hayes when asked whether he exchanged emails with George Papadopoulos and whether the two discussed Russia.
As he has in the past, Page repeatedly declined to provide direct answer to questions about his role on Trump's campaign.
Page and Papadopoulos both served as foreign policy advisers for the campaign. Trump also named both of them when he listed off those who were shaping his views on foreign policy during an interview with the Washington Post.

You read that correctly: Carter Page gave a TV interview this evening without an attorney next to him. It beggars belief.

(70,449 posts)... In other words Page knows that his emails to and from Papadopoulos have been looked at
by Team Mueller. And I can only hope that the money that Page is supposed to have taken
back from Russia and given to the Trump Campaign comes to light too.

The home of special council Robert Mueller.
Mueller is home pouring himself a drink after a long few days at the office. He reads something like this and says aloud "wow these people are really stupid they are doing my job for me."
Science Two.
The home of the attorney representing Carter Page.
He finds out is client is taking on television about his contacts with the man who has pled guilty as is cooperating with the DOJ.
He shouts "How many times to have to tell these people KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT"

(22,665 posts)Christopher Wray looks good on paper, but his law firm represents Russian-controlled oil companies.
On paper, Christopher Wray appears to be an excellent choice to serve as the next FBI director. He has "impeccable" academic credentials (Yale law school) and has had a decades-long distinguished career as a federal prosecutor and high-level official in the Department of Justice. As the criminal defense lawyer for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie during the Bridgegate investigation, he did raise some eyebrows when it was learned that one of Christies missing cellphones mysteriously ended up in Wrays possession, but this is unlikely to derail Wrays confirmation.
The most troubling issue that Wray may face is the fact that his law firm King & Spalding represents Rosneft and Gazprom, two of Russias largest state-controlled oil companies.
Rosneft was prominently mentioned in the now infamous 35-page dossier prepared by former British MI6 agent Christopher Steele. The dossier claims that the CEO of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, offered candidate Donald tRump, through tRumps campaign advisor Carter Page, a 19% stake in the company in exchange for lifting U.S. sanctions on Russia. The dossier claims that the offer was made in July while Page was in Moscow. - USA Today 06/08/17
Keeping it all in tRump's mafia-like crime family

(128,527 posts)I think if that were the case, he would have gotten the same treatment as Papadopoulos since he was very much under the microscope - meaning getting a surprise visit at the airport. He was the one identified as having been under a FISA warrant, which had been renewed several times. It's also possible that he may have secretly done a plea deal and is biding his time until the rest of the chess moves to happen (although that idea is speculative at best, but people like him would probably be willing to go into self-preservation mode and screw anyone else around him).
