Support For Impeachment At Record High

Source: Public Policy Polling

PPP’s newest national poll finds a record level of support for impeaching Donald Trump. 49% of voters support impeaching him, to 41% who are opposed to doing so. This marks the 6th month in a row we’ve found a plurality of voters in favor of impeaching Trump, and it’s the closest we’ve found to a majority.

Trump’s approval rating has declined by a net 7 points in the last month. In September we found him at a -11 spread with 42% of voters approving of him to 53% who disapproved. Now he’s at -18 with 38% of voters approving of him to 56% who disapprove.

Trump claimed last week that he had accomplished more in 9 months than any President in American History, but only 25% of voters believe that claim to 66% who do not, although it’s a notable measure of the ‘Trump cult’ that 55% of those who voted for him do believe he’s the most accomplished to 32% who disagree. Voters actually put his first 9 months in a very different historical context- 49% already say they think he’s the worst President in American History, to 43% who dispute that notion. By a 54/40 margin voters wish Barack Obama was still President instead of Trump, and by a 48/42 spread they wish Hillary Clinton was in the White House rather than Trump.

Trump fares poorly on a number of metrics we tested in the poll. Only 37% of voters think he’s honest, to 56% who say he’s not. In fact a 52% majority come right out and say they think Trump is a liar, to 41% who disagree with that characterization. There are continued transparency concerns, with 60% of voters thinking he needs to release his tax returns to just 32% who don’t think it’s necessary for him to. And only 31% of voters think Trump has delivered on the core promise of his campaign to ‘Make America Great Again,’ to 60% who say he’s failed on that front.

It was the same for Nixon. Even after Nixon resigned in disgrace, probably 25-30% of those polled thought he was a good president. It's the phony way they do the polls, they're always getting ridiculous numbers.

It's people who think they'll lose their welfare or social security checks if they say anything bad about him. We don't have to worry about those people - at all.

They’re illogically stubborn and proud of it. Trying to explain common sense to them only drives them further into the mental bunker.

After watching Steyer's commercial again this morning and seeing this poll it just seems to me that it's going to take average (and billionaires like Steyer) people to push our "leaders" into doing what they should be doing.

It looks like the House and Senate Democrats have no plans to start anything right now.
But it's early yet, things will change pretty soon.

If everyone signs the Impeachment petition, it will get them off their asses.
I'm sure that at least some of the Republican incumbents will go along with it.

We never thought we'd ever see a time like that again.

We need Mueller to get pence too. We really do not want a radical religious RWNJ repub like pence to be president. In fact the evangelicals were promised pence as president if they voted for trump. How many of the 49% who want trump impeached are evangelicals wanting pence? I abhor them both, but trump hurts the repubs. pence does not hurt the repubs.

Apparently Pence is under investigation, and they already have stuff on him. He'll go down too, but maybe they're focusing on Trump for now. Nothing to worry about here.

It appears he's beholden to the Koch Brothers in the same way that Trump is beholden to Putin. But I haven't read all these articles so I don't know the particulars.

Also there are accounts of how Manafort (still campaign manager at that point) tricked Trump into selecting Pence as his running mate instead of Chris Christie. So why would Manafort would do that, since he was taking orders from the Russian bosses? At that point - June 2016 - Manafort & Pence were thick as thieves and probably worked more closely together than Trump and Pence ever did.

The OP has lots of links to follow on Pence. I'm running out of steam so I'm going to read the rest of these links tomorrow.

Tue Oct 31, 2017, 11:39 AM
Oct 2017

Yesterday was October 30. In other words, the poll was taken entirely before yesterday's events took place.

Voters were asked whether Donald Trump should resign if it comes out that members of his campaign team worked with Russia. 54 percent said yes, 37 percent said no.

The poll asked whether the voters believed that this actually happened. Only 41 percent said yes. 43 percent said no. We now have a guilty plea that confirms that this did indeed happen.

Trump's numbers have fallen in the most recent Gallup tracking poll to 33/62. Yesterday's events may not lower them further, but what they might do is lock them in at those lower levels and prevent a recovery.

I don't even know why the hell it's even that high.

And this one -

And only 31% of voters think Trump has delivered on the core promise of his campaign to ‘Make America Great Again,’

And THOSE are the deplorables who heard the "MAGA" dogwhistle and knew it really meant "MAWA" ("Make America White Again" ), which is what happened with the election of the current occupant of the Oval Office.

has been off for about 7 months now. I pay attention to what elected Republicans are trying to do that does effect "my world", mainly they're trying to fuck-up my insurance right now.

Open enrollment is November 1st to December 15th (Republicans cut 2 weeks off open enrollment) So tomorrow or in a couple of days, we'll see how bad the health care.gov is messed up by Republicans. And how much more I have to pay for insurance because of Republicans.

Another crazy thing Republicans do right now is ruin OUR Public Lands, and our parks and our environment. We're part of that environment- we need healthy land, air and water to survive on Earth. Plus the Republicans who colluded with a foreign government to attack Americas democracy- all those people are traitors and need to be purged from our government.

Other then that I don't give a shit about 'angry white men' trump fans and fans of trump 'internet warriors' .
