GOP Rep. Jeb Hensarling to retire after end of current term

Source: The Hill

House Financial Services Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) announced Tuesday that he will retire at the end of his term, according to the Dallas Morning News.

"Today I am announcing that I will not seek reelection to the U.S. Congress in 2018. Although service in Congress remains the greatest privilege of my life, I never intended to make it a lifetime commitment, and I have already stayed far longer than I had originally planned," Hensarling said.

Hensarling, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, will be forced to step down after three terms leading the panel due to GOP rules.

Talk of Hensarling's possible retirement has started to pick up.

Free dumb knows what they dont like, and they dont like it when a brown person gets assistance from the government and the entire caucus exists to eliminate that from ever happening.

That is pretty much all they care about.

Actually, this makes Paul Ryan their founder, even though he isnt. His fantasy is destroying minorities, old people, poor people.

He literally admits to DREAMING about it.

Look at the demographics of the district, this one is hopeless.

No more Ossoff moon shots.

We need to build a strong organization everywhere and we need to run credible candidates everywhere, but we also need to use resources responsibly. We let some of the weakest elected Republicans in the country run virtually unopposed while wild eyed radicals with a point to prove decide to waste millions on districts in the suburban and rural south.

My district, CA-48 voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, it also voted to re-elect Republican Congressvagrant Dana Rohrabacher. How the hell did that happen? Look at the flakes we have run against him.

One Dem state House candidate was able to flip 3 red precincts at last election when she lost to the incumbent GOP guy. This time around she's got a good chance of flipping several more. If she does she will win the seat.
The way i see it, it took the Repugs 30 years to flip the red southern states (remember Southern Strategy & Bible Belt)? It may take us just as long if not longer to flip red districts.

health care, he now gets health care benefits and a retirement, while defined benefits are gone, or nearly gone, but he gets his from the taxpayers (he gets defined benefits) and then he says that he didn't intend to make it a lifetime career, ---------------well that was another another outright lie, you should have left 8 years ago , making over $220,000 a year as a chairman, just figuring out how to screw people over------------don't let the door hit you in the ass..........................

Defined benefits:

What is a 401k Retirement Plan? A Quick Overview. Employer-sponsored retirement plans are generally grouped into two major categories: defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC). In a DB plan, the employer (taxpayers since he was employed by voters) promises to pay a defined amount to retirees who meet certain eligibility criteria.
