It makes it so easy for trump , bannon and their deplorable followers to bond together in their destruction of the country.

Maybe if Twitter would take one for the home team, voluntarily shut down for a year or so.

Twitter was a head scratcher for me for years, but it is a way to get a snapshot of other people's views, and you can embed links to articles of any length you like.

Or it Trump's case, you can pad your thoughts with 120 extra characters.

Wasn't the original intention for it to be something where people could "microblog" about the mundane stuff like what they are having for lunch or what concert they are going to?

I'm not interested in what people had for lunch or people repeating who is dating who.

It's an inefficient medium for anything other than the smallest of thoughts, so, perfect for Dolt 45 as he has no thoughts at all.

The 140 character limit is purely artificial at this point.

I've been on sites in which anything more than a paragraph gets "too long" or "boooooooooooooring" comments right away. It's hard to engage the average person these days.

We need to stop treating adults like children.

Do not participate in the dumbing-down of America. Call them out for such feeble-mindedness. Slackers.

Set higher standards than one paragraph and expect them.

I was just about to say that as an author, when I finish the first paragraph, hit return, and move on to the second, I've just written off half of my audience.

Maybe I should go back and look at that first paragraph again!

Now that everyone is on the Internet, the same observation applies to it.

Look at the tools Donald Trump uses in his tweets: deceit, artifice, misdirection, sophistry, hatred, oversimplification, and most importantly, fear. The very tools tyrants have always used to motivate and convince the slowest and least comprehending of us.

Or a still more depressing way to put it is that if half of everyone is leaning stupid and another, smaller proportion of everyone is clever and anti-social, evil will always win as long as the arguments have to be simple. Evil is unbound to truth or logic.

Not a power user, don't have a lot of followers. Guess I just got "lucky".

To all of those saying they hate twitter and don't use it. Please learn it, and use it. We will need all the help we can get to counter all the disinformation and fake news in the future.

I personally do as much as I can to promote true tweets and facts to counter both bots and the brainwashed far right loonies.
