Texas gunman killed his wifes grandmother in church shooting
Source: New York Daily News
The gunman behind the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history killed his grandmother-in-law Lula Woicinski White inside the church he targeted Sunday, a relative confirmed to the Daily News.
White, 71, was a devout member of the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs and was attending services when her granddaughter's husband Devin Patrick Kelley opened fire, killing 26 parishioners, the relative said.
"My sister was a wonderful, caring person a God-loving person. She loved the people in her church. They were all her best friends," Mary Mishler Clyburn told The News.
"I miss her badly already. We texted every day. We loved each other to the moon and back," she said, breaking down in tears.

(51,563 posts)I saw this float from last Feb at a Carnival celebration in Italy. I remebered it a few days ago and thought that the Italians must have ESP. tRump, Las Vegas, and shooting all on one float...they know Americans pretty well.

(21,040 posts)Saving that one. I love Italy. When I was there in March I was asked by many Italians how could the US vote for such an insane man. I told them there are a lot of ignorant brainwashed people who dont read and get their info from a propaganda channel or right wing radio.

(51,563 posts)and they are pretty sharp and know what we are going through. My sister travels alot and people basically understand that the Moron is crazy and they hate him and feel sorry for us. They are very wise and look at it through a persective that has seen a lot for thousands of years in their own countries' histories. They are cool and say, "This too shall pass, it always does". Sort of like yin/yang, the swinging pendulum, etc.

(21,040 posts)Near the hotel I stayed at. I took pictures and that night translated it into English. Ive seen books critical of him here but not as descriptive covers as the Italian books. And the newspapers I saw had anti twitler articles. I could easily move to Italy if I was a young woman. But Im too old now to make the move. Youre lucky you have relatives there. Planning to go again in March.

(21,646 posts)It is known as a seaside resort as well as being the home of the famous carnival of Viareggio (dating back to 1873), and its papier-mâché floats, which (since 1925), parade along the promenade known as "Passeggiata a mare", in the weeks of Carnival. The symbol of the carnival of Viareggio and its official mask is Burlamacco, designed and invented by Uberto Bonetti in 1930.

(45,380 posts)the gun companies had gotten used to having annual "Obama's coming to get your guns" sales for 8 years. Sales have dropped off because the sort of people who want these semi-automatic long guns have already bought plenty.
We keep having mass shootings. The struggle continues.

(11,841 posts)Seems like everyone who wants a gun would already HAVE one. I've never thought about running out and getting one because I'm scared I won't be able to later. And I HAVE guns now, but not any AR-types

I am curious how humor is taken by the public after a tragedy, some gets raves, others not not not so much
