REVEALED: Tim Tebow declined to speak out against white supremacist rally at University of Florida

Source: Raw Story

Leaked emails obtained by the Huffington Post reveal that the university reached out to Tebow and asked him to record a video message promoting unity ahead of Spencer’s speech last month.

Spencer, who openly advocates for white nationalism and the expulsion of non-whites from the United States, is notorious for sparking racial tensions wherever he travels.

Because of this, the University of Florida wanted to arrange for several famous alumni to film messages in support of racial tolerance that would be shown during a school assembly that would be a counter to the speech being given on campus by Spencer.

“We are getting in contact with famous alums asking to record a brief message of unity, togetherness, Gator Nation, etc,” the university wrote to ESPN. “Obviously a message from Tim Tebow would be a great addition.”

Now, I am totally done and disappointed that he wouldn't take a stand for fear of alienating some yeehaws! Well, glad the rest of the people here disagreed! Hardly anyone came to Spencers' speech except protestors and he walked off stage because he couldn't get out his hate speech over the crowd noise. So sad, UF totally rocked on this one. Huge diversity rallies the next day were very well attended.

It always seemed like they practice what they preach, they weren't part of the tealiban and weren't racist haters. Even when he was in the NFL he did made the yearly trip with his parents to So. America, so yeah I do know some about him, although I cant claim to see into his heart.

Tebow wants Spencer to know how "special" he is. Old Timmy wouldn't want to hurt Spencer's feelings by taking a stand against the racism and hate he represents. It's all part of "god's" plan, you see.

I always thought Tebow was a bit of a hypocrite. Now I know for sure.

Literal or non-literal interpretation (as literal interpretations are more often than not, reduce themselves to idiocy)?

But the story says Tebow said he wouldn't do it. He should own that decision.

Tebow declined to speak out against white supremacists? Color me shocked.

Tim and his ilk are all sure that Jesus was white!

And we all know Santa Claus is a fat evangelical white man too!

And God wrote the bible, in English, by hand. There were no translations involved, and all of the missing parts and books are fake news.

Welcome to White Man's religion fantasy land!

Price of admission: Your soul, and and semblance of decency you may have been born with.

Think for yourself people!

Question authority!

If you insist on being sheep, you will be shorn.

Have you tithed today?

Somebody has to put gas in God's Cadillac.

Rubin told Chrystal-Green to reach out to ESPN public relations officials about Tebow’s availability. An ESPN spokeswoman told HuffPost, “The university reached out to us to gauge Tim’s involvement in recording a video with regards to the Richard Spencer event at UF and we declined on his behalf.”

Other reports say he never got a chance to decline. ESPN declined for him

I always stood up for Tebow. I thought he was sincere in his Christian beliefs.

But now I see his faith was infected by fascist hate and destroyed just like most so-called evangelicals.

If you can't speak out against racial hate, fascism and bigotry you are no Christian in my book.

Just another heretic Timmy and that is BS!

If that's the case with him, I don't blame him. If he has done this sort of thing in the past for other causes, though, that is not cool.
