Billionaire Tom Steyer Is Doubling His Budget on These Ads to Impeach Trump
Source: Fortune
Billionaire Tom Steyer said Thursday that he is spending an additional $10 million on his impeachment campaign against President Donald Trump.
Steyer, a Democratic megadonor and former hedge fund manager, announced the boost in funding on a conference call Thursday, saying he will fund two new impeachment ads, according to Politico. Steyer launched a campaign to impeach Trump last month, spending well over $10 million for the first ad to run in all 50 states, a spokesman said at the time. His impeachment petition has since garnered more than 1.9 million signatures, Politico reports.
In an interview with TIME last month, Steyer called the Trump Administration an immediate danger to the health and safety of America and said he has no plans to stop the impeachment campaign.
Im willing to do just about anything to try and contribute to getting us back on a growth path that is just and good for America, he said.

(128,898 posts)have done this sort of thing against Democrats routinely, persistently, and for an extended period of time. It's time for the wealthy left to step up (Soros can't continue to be expected to carry the load).

(2,870 posts)Pretty much endless supplies of it stocked away in offshore accounts.
And we don't have that many benefactors like this.
Most of the moneyed, the 1%ers, the huge wealth inheiritors, think like our fearless (ha!) leader. They don't wanna share it. They don't wanna pay a dime in taxes.
So, an answer... Chase the offshore dollars and their owners to the ends of the earth. Make THEM pay!
Let America know that that's why you pay high taxes.
It's because they DON"T.
Worked for the tea party, the out-growth of a generation or 2 of Reaganomics that put us in this hole we find ourselves in...
but don' gemme stahted!! i could go on all nght!

(51,585 posts)all kinds of off shore banking practices that aren't directly related to the Moron but by other billionaires and Wilbur Ross, etc so that is good news. He wants to see how the oligarchs are intertwined with politics. This investigation is getting bigger and bigger. He already has all of the Moron's tax records and crossed the threatened "red line" long ago.
Steyer's is helping to drive the Moron crazy(ier) with his ads so that is an added bonus!

(24,329 posts)IMO the money would be better spent with lawyers wading through the voter registration rules in each state and getting people registered to vote
People can troll il douche all they want and they can complain about the onerous registration rules, but it doesn't get anyone registered and it doesn't get those laws changed
Agreed

(5,730 posts)to the choir. Some Reubs watch CNN, but mostly they think it is. As Dotard says, "fake news."
I think he should sue Fox. It is publicly traded, not privately owned...violation free speech. They allow Repub ads for whatever they want.

(128,898 posts)If this can wake some of our own electorate up, then that definitely helps. Few will ever convince the Faux Snooze zombies to stop voting against their own interests as a spite job against Democrats.

(128,898 posts)I don't think he would win. Even if Faux is publicly-traded, it is not government-owned and thus still considered a "private business"... and Faux Snooze is on cable, so not really regulated like their network counterpart.
