Texas church won't reopen after shooting: pastor

Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 11/09/17 11:59 AM EST

The Texas church where a gunman last weekend killed 26 people will not reopen, the church's pastor has said.

“There’s too many that do not want to go back in there,” Pastor Frank Pomeroy said Wednesday, according to The Wall Street Journal. “We will probably turn it into a memorial for a while. We’re playing it day by day right now.”

Pomeroy said there is a service scheduled Sunday for the congregation at a community center in the area. Pomeroy's 14-year-old daughter was among those killed in the shooting.

He said it's too soon to tell right now whether the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs will be torn down and rebuilt.

And on top of that the community itself has been torn apart. Finding a way forward is going to take lots of support.

People are going to be uncomfortable there with so many having died in that space. It probably still has blood in cracks in the floor and the pews.

People who are spiritual may believe that their loved ones are in heaven, but many may feel like the area feels like a cemetery, and not in a peaceful way.

Alex Jones InfoWars and their followers have started “false flagging” the murders and attacking the victims.

And shame them.

It’s also happening to the Las Vegas victims as well.

especially conservative Texas Republicans who supported trump, might be the only way to finally take down the perveyors of these damn lies.

We would erect a memorial on that site, and ask the community to donate a plat of land on which to build a new church. I looked at Google Maps; there is a lot of unused land in Sutherland Springs. It would be just too creepy to try to worship on the land so many of my neighbors and friends died on.
