Pelosi rails against 'scam' GOP tax reform plans

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called Republicans' tax reform plan a "scam" on Thursday, hours after the Senate released its version of the bill that would eliminate key deductions for homeowners.
At every stage, the GOP tax scam grows more generous for multi-national corporations and more destructive toward American workers and middle class families. The Senate bill confirms it," said Pelosi in a statement, jabbing at Republicans for the plan's corporate tax deductions.
The Senate legislation has the same basic framework as the House bill: It cuts the corporate tax rate to 20 percent, establishes a lower tax rate for pass-through businesses and cuts individual rates. But in a big shift with the House bill, it would delay the corporate tax cut for one year, to 2019.
Pelosi also jeered at Republicans for trying to vote on the bill, which would "totally destroy" an entire tax deduction that she said would harm their own voter base.

(4,370 posts)trickle down seems to be an easy policy to legislate, in some states.
Especially when those states republicans rule the capital. In kansaas,
the great experiment that brownback tried damn near bankrupt the
state.
