Alabama State Auditor Who Defended Moore Spoke to Racist Group in 2015

Source: Daily Beast

Alabama State Auditor Jim Zeigler, who this week defended U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore against allegations of molesting a 14-year-old girl by saying they were “much ado about very little,” is not just an apologist for sexual abuse.

He has also done his part to legitimize white nationalism.

Zeigler, an enthusiast of President Trump and a far-right politician even by local standards, gave a major speech in 2015 to the League of the South, a wildly racist group that opposes racial intermarriage, describes egalitarianism as a “fatal heresy,” fantasizes about a coming race war, and says, in the words of its leader, that “organized Jewry” has been behind the South’s problems for a century.

2. Can't blame State Auditor Jim Ziegler for feeling he's so supremely superior to others, can you?

Hot damn, he's a humdinger.

So much nobility in Alabama.

Robert Bentley, magnificent governor

He's probably quite the supremacist, himself.

the next Republican Presidential candidate. He checks all the boxes for every major characteristic Republicans love in a Presidential candidate, that's for sure.

1. He's a man, and a Southern man at that
2. He's a racist man
3. He's a sexist man
4. He toes the party line no matter what
5. He's a misogynist
6. Received his Juris Doctor degree from a small christian college.
7. He's a "very religious man".

And there's no telling how many secret skeletons are buried in his closet. But it doesn't matter if you're a Republican.

Yep, he's got 'Republican Presidential Candidate' written all over him.

When will the rest of the nation realize that not much has changed in the South since before the Civil War?

I was born (1944) and reared in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. Left Mississippi a long time ago but stay in close touch with relatives and friends there. It's not much changed.

Oh, yes, black folks can go to any restaurant or motel or movie theater or shopping mall . . . but . . .
-- schools are still segregated. White kids go to private "Christian academies" while the black kids are in the public schools
-- voting is strictly along racial lines; where there are black officials, it's because they are in majority black areas
-- "the N word" is a normal part of white vocabulary
-- Driving While Black is still a crime
-- the most segregated time of the week is Sunday morning
-- and on and on and on
