Advertisers distance themselves from Hannity after Moore coverage

Source: The Hill

Two companies have said they will no longer advertise during Fox News’s “Hannity” after critics called for the companies to pull their ads over Sean Hannity’s coverage of the sexual misconduct allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore (R).

Realtor.com and Keurig both said they are stopping their ads from airing during the show after being questioned about the advertisements on Twitter. Neither company specifically said their decision was over Moore coverage, but only made the announcement in response to critics.

“Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are adjusting our media buy to no longer include this show placement. –MS,” Realtor.com wrote to a Twitter user on Friday who tweeted a clip of Hannity’s Fox News show at the company.

Keurig said in a tweet to the president of liberal group Media Matters for America that the company is stopping its ad during Hannity’s show.

If Hannity can't guide Moore through an interview, then Moore is hopeless.

about the Democrats, and Liberals, and Tree Huggers, and every other entity that's just a little bit left of Mussolini, and how they're taking food out of his mouth etc. etc. etc. He'll cry them a fascist river, and they'll start boycotting every advertiser that's dumped him, is considering dumping him, or not considering elevating him to sainthood.

I doubt this will hurt Hannity in the least, and he'll continue on his merry way, backing traitors, pedophiles, and rapists. Those are solid Republican core values of late, and he'll continue to be the designated Trump administration ass muncher on FOX "News" until he's told not to by the Murdoch clan (or the Morlock clan, as I prefer to call them).

The Republicans, once the self-proclaimed guardians of "family values", and "the great silent majority", have now been relegated to be the guardians of every right-wing degenerate and traitor. These Republican turd-puffs love to feather their own nest with thefts of the American taxpayer's money, along with payments from Russian Oligarchs, who wish to purchase their very own President or Republican Congressman, as a sort of trophy to hang on their Dacha walls, instead of the usual Bears or Caribou.

Hannity isn't going anywhere. He's the fascist's friend, always having something nice to say about those who wish to destroy the United States and it's Democracy. He's the go-to guy when GOP fascists want to pile heaps of spin on their brain-dead constituents, and he's oh-so obliging. In your dictionary, look under "fuck-wit" or "ass-clown", and you'll see a picture of his disgusting fascist face.

Hannity will get caught in any sex scandals, which is what brought O'Lielly down. I'm not sure Hannity knows how babies are made. Murdoch hasn't told him yet, and Hannity is the quintessential lap dog of right-wing spinmeisters.

are on a sliding scale. Hannity's show has a good rating's share, so their "morals" are fairly loose right now. Should Hannity's rating's share decrease, their "morals" become much more stringent. See how that works?

Because from the ones I've known (and from having been one, a long time ago), 14 year old people are generally not complete mental invalids.

They are not too young to experience basic emotions like 'I want this' vs. 'I don't want this'.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that the ability to experience and discern between these two sensations if you will actually starts before the age of 14, for most people.

I'm not Freud, but I'd imagine it's significantly more damaging to a person to be outright forced into sex acts ... than it is to be seduced or even manipulated ... into them. Also, feeling free to 'say no and walk away' is a fairly important aspect of ... encounters.

And my untrained speculation would be that this is true whether you're 14, or 40.

I'm in no way implying Moore and Hannity are not both evil assholes, don't get me wrong. But 'being forced' vs 'not being forced' is a meaningful distinction, even when one is only 14.

There is a reason we have a crime on the books labeled 'statutory rape', IOW.

Also the scientifically correct term in this case is likely 'Ephebophile', or possibly 'Hebophile'. Somewhat unlikely that a Western 14 yo female was prepubescent.

Just saying ... words do have definitions.

And also F*** Roy Moore and Sean Hannity. What happened was NOT OKAY, regardless of the word definitions.

The point is that 14 year olds are not adults and are thus protected by law from predators. By law, 14 years are not capable of giving consent. Period.

It does not matter whether the 14 year old expressed consent or not. Sexual predator Roy Moore violated a young person, without consent. Period.

It doesn't matter how bright or intelligent they are. It doesn't matter whether violence was involved and whether violence is more or less harmful. By the way, you are speculating badly and wildly about the effects of non-violence. Further, non-violent coercion involves power, which is a kind of NON-PHYSICAL VIOLENCE. I think you are out of your depth and should not engage in uniformed speculation about what is more or less harmful sexual violation of a young person, or any person.

Neuroscience shows that the frontal cortex develops during the teen years. That is where executive decision-making is primarily located. This is the science behind "age of consent" and laws regarding when it becomes legal to sign contracts as an adult.

In fact, it can be considerably more damaging to be coerced. That's because the victim is left feeling responsible for what was done to them.

They look like 3 year old children having a temper tantrum and destroying their toys. And I hate coffee pods anyway because they create so much waste. So lots for me to laugh at and like. I guess since Realtor.com has withdrawn, they'll next burn their houses down.
