Dems: GOP tax plan a disaster

Source: MSN/The Hill

Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.) on Friday slammed Republicans' plan to overhaul the nation's tax code as a "partisan disaster," casting it as a massive windfall to the wealthiest Americans that places an undue burden on the working class.

"Tax reform done right would benefit the middle class and American businesses," DelBene said in the Democrats' weekly address.

"As a former CEO myself, I know firsthand that what makes our economy strong are the foundational things that have always made this country great: skilled workers, innovative ideas, a stable business climate, modern infrastructure and a world-class university system that helps turn cutting-edge research into successful businesses. Not indiscriminate corporate tax cuts."

That measure would reduce the number of individual tax brackets from seven to three, eliminate a number of tax breaks and deductions and drastically cut the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent.

When all these Trump-supporting lower-income people finally get hit somewhere where they can really feel it, they'll figure out that they've been had. Of course, if pride prevents them from admitting it, they'll just blame their accountants for being libbruls, and figure Trump is still walking around with a halo.

system that includes an open debate on public policy. We live in a nightmare puke dictatorship with a greedy maniac ruining our country. I can't believe the media's role in helping to get the monster elected and then playing along by even referring to the asshole as president. They helped to tilt the election by smearing a candidate with illegally obtained and unverified information supplied by a hostile foreign power, fuck CNN and MSNBC for being so sanctimonious as to even consider themselves to be journalist. They are panders
of sensationalism whose only object is to garner ratings and fat contracts for themselves.
