Franken, Moore assault allegations dredge up accusations against Trum

Source: CNN

(CNN) As a swirl of sexual impropriety allegations roil Washington, President Donald Trump's top aides are trying to inoculate him from comparisons with the stories of more than a dozen women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct.

But the allegations against Minnesota Democratic Sen. Al Franken, who apologized after a California radio host and model said he had groped and kissed her without consent in 2006, and Roy Moore, the Republican Senate candidate in Alabama who has been accused by multiple women of pursuing sexual relationships with them as teenagers when he was in his early 30s, have dredged up the allegations last year made against Trump, including the 2005 Access Hollywood tape in which Trump brags about sexually assaulting women.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Friday that there are no similarities between the Trump and Franken accusations.

At least 13 women have come forward to accuse Trump of sexual impropriety, allegations that range from sexual harassment and misconduct to sexual assault, including unwanted kissing and groping. All of the alleged incidents took place prior to his assuming the presidency,

By accident, I'm sure. But the allegations against Trump are far worse than those against Sen Franken. We definitely need an investigation.

went directly to 45. Even the MSM spoke about 45's assault allegations. I bet the repiggies did not expect this. They expected things to drag Franken down more than they have.

If he'd gone on the offensive, the media would have been full of that.

Instead, the contrast between his reaction and Trump and Moore's is so stark that even the media are calling it out.

Sad to say, though, a Google search on "Franken" or "Tweeden" at the moment only shows pages and pages about the original allegations and his response etc.

Despite the whooping up at the moment on GD about found racy footage of Tweeden at USO shows, that's yet to gain any visible traction in the MSM. It remains to be seen whether it will, outside our echo chamber. Which makes me even more convinced Franken's reaction is the right one for him at the moment.
