Romney, Ryan campaign 'to change Washington' at rally outside Charlotte

Source: Charlotte Observer

Mitt Romney introduced running mate Paul Ryan to a crowd of Republican faithful outside Charlotte on Sunday morning, saying he has the “ideas to get America back on track.”

¬snip¬

“I selected this man to be running mate because I want to change Washington,” Romney said. “I don’t want to be like Europe; I want to be like America.”

The presence of Ryan, a seven-term Wisconsin congressman picked Saturday as the GOP vice presidential nominee, added a layer of hype to Romney’s first significant campaign tour in North Carolina, a key battleground state.

Yeah he's a real outsider

Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate, is a Beltway charmer
Rep. Paul Ryan's big ideas stress independence and self-reliance, the qualities that took him from the mailroom to a spot on the Republican Party's presidential ticket.

Interesting you are not going to say Michigan and try and turn a blue state red, Mitt.

Maybe, and this is a maybe, if you try really hard and spend a fortune you might be able to keep this southern state red.

But I don't think so. especially after the convention.

They're both already isolated from the "you people" and have they're private mansions and mini get away mansions.

I think it it's more about money. They won't be happy until they have every penny and all of us, regardless of ethnicity, are less than indentured servants.

That's the America they want America to be like.

"As for Ryan’s proposed changes in Medicare, Ward isn’t worried, partly because it wouldn’t affect her. “I think something needs to be done,” she said. “People are going to have to learn to save.”

Anyone who would vote for those two, deserves what they get. Seriously. they deserve to live on the streets once they find out that Ryan/*Romney will cut their long term care funding, and worse. They deserve to eat dog food the rest of their lives, if they actually believe that bullshit.

They're actually worse than Cheney/Bush, if that's possible. It's like Cheney/Bush but add in the absolute GUTTING of the social service safety net for seniors, children, education, the poor, and the disabled.

It's like Dick Cheney and Ron Paul is on the ticket, but with better and more hair.

A 7 term insider Congressman to be on his ticket. Now that is a head-scratcher.

Also, when is the last time a national ticket won with a House member as part of the ticket? I know that Gerald Ford was minority leader in the House when he was named Vice President to replace Spiro Agnew after he resigned on corruption charges but that doesn't count, especially since he lost his only campaign for national office. I'm guessing you would have to go back at least 150 years.
