Ryan tears up at Wisconsin rally: ‘My veins run with cheese’

Source: The Ticket

WAUKESHA, Wis.—Rep. Paul Ryan wiped away tears as he made his first appearance as Mitt Romney's running mate in his home state, telling a crowd of 10,000 people here that the upcoming election is a "special moment" not just for him, but for the country.

Arriving here at an early evening rally, Romney and Ryan made what can only be described as a movie star entrance, riding in on the Romney campaign bus and then making their way through the crowd to the soundtrack of the movie, "Air Force One."

Upon taking the stage, Ryan become visibly emotional, wiping his eyes. He blew kisses to the crowd. His first words on the stump were, "Hi, Mom."

Joking that half the crowd were his relatives, Ryan talked up his Midwestern roots and his love for his home state.

The soundtrack of the movie, 'Air Force One?' Making President Obama an invading terrorist?

Classy.

If they'd made him edit the line, would the headline have been "campaign tells Ryan:cut the cheese"?

The first few with him were ticketed in advance... so it's not Ryan that's bringing them in.

And let's face it, there ARE republicans that are supporting Romney. There are people deluded enough to believe that Romney is actually going to make them richer.. which he's not. Billionaires and multi millionaires don't stand around in the heat to see candidates.. they get private access. These folks are deluded, but faithful.

And the media meme that ryan is popular is total bullshit, according to the polls this morning. AND.. Romney being Romney, I have no doubt that they're doing something specific to pump up the crowds.

But remember.. the crowds this weekend could not have know that Ryan was on the ticket when they made plans to go. That was a media lie.

But some people have genetic high cholesterol regardless of diet and exercise; these were the people (mostly men) who died in their 40s and 50s of heart attacks before the era of Lipitor and bypass surgery.

had a father and grandfather who died from heart attacks in their 50s as well. He is in his mid 60s now and has been running marathons for decades and is very fit also.

I imagine in both their cases it's trying to stave off what they think is inevitable. Regardless of fitness, congenital heart disease can hit you. A 15 year old died of a heart attack when I was in high school. I think my mom's stepdad has defied the odds. Paul Ryan, only being 42 is anyone's guess whether that fitness training will save him or not. I think probability wise it won't, but I am not a cardiologist.

Had a quad bypass at 68 and has been vigilant with meds and checkups since then; all the other men in the family died of heart attacks and strokes in their 60s and 70s before modern heart surgery & meds. Cardiology is one area of medicine that has truly changed things in the past 40 years.

likely have to take cholesterol meds in his 50s, if he's not taking them already. I don't think he's going to necessarily die in his 50s or early 60s, but I think he will likely have problems in his 50s/60s rather than his 70s/80s.
