Poll: Republican voters say Dems have sexual harassment problem, GOP doesn't

Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 11/28/17 11:49 AM EST

A majority of Republicans in a new poll say Democrats have a sexual harassment problem, while a majority of Democrats say both parties do.

A HuffPost/YouGov survey finds 76 percent of Republicans and Republican leaners think Democrats have a very or somewhat serious problem with sexual harassment.

But just 40 percent of Republicans think sexual harassment is a very or somewhat serious problem in their own party, while a slightly higher percentage, 43 percent of Republicans, think it's not an issue within their own party.

A majority of Democrats, 60 percent, think their own party has a sexual harassment problem, while 75 percent of Democrats think sexual harassment is a very or somewhat serious problem within the GOP.

because Republicans don’t see sexual harassment as a problem. It’s only a tool to attack attack Democrats with. If it happens within their ranks it’s just boys being boys.

Wasn’t one of the Trump boys’ answers to addressing sexual harassment/harassment in the workplace to just find another job?

Trump on how women should deal with harassment: It’s ‘up to the individual’

By Katie Zezima and Philip Rucker August 2, 2016

Donald Trump said Tuesday that women who are sexually harassed in the workplace can take action within their company, leave their employer while still seeking retribution, or quit.

“I think it’s got to be up to the individual,” Trump said in an interview. “It also depends on what’s available. There may be a better alternative; then there may not. If there’s not a better alternative, then you stay. But it could be there’s a better alternative where you’re taken care of better.”

The Republican presidential nominee’s comments came after he drew criticism late Monday for an interview with USA Today in which he said that if his daughter Ivanka were sexually harassed it would be up to her to find a new situation. “I would like to think she would find another career or find another company if that was the case,” Trump said.

Trump’s son Eric followed that by saying Tuesday on “CBS This Morning” that “Ivanka is a strong, powerful woman. She wouldn’t allow herself to be, you know, subjected to it.”

It appears that Conyers should've been gone a long time ago. He may be an "icon" but a friend of mine told that when he worked for him 40 years ago Conyers behaved the way that is currently being described. If so, it should'n't have been tolerated.

I'm just so tired of "boys will be boys" and even if we didn't do anything about it in the past, we need to do it now. It's time. Yes, the Ethic committee needs to do the evaluation but Congress also needs to improve its harrassment reporting process. Bad behavior gets us eventually, karma. So "just say no".

But bear in mind that from Vitter to Hastert the Cons have a HUGE problem that never gets addressed. Any coverage past the first day of Barton's pics and his threats to not reveal them or he'd call the police? And now a child predator may enter the Senate.

It was tolerated and ignored. I wasn't surprised by the allegations because I heard them before and I live in Calif.

I don't have a lotta faith that any of this is going to change. Out of sight, out of mind.

The media feeds into that stance because drama/ratings.

Democrats are not fault free but in comparison to the vile mindset of Republican voter have a massive uphill battle to retain decency in this country.

They're fucking idiots; that's why they're Republicans in the first place.

Am I supposed to be surprised that the party that elected Trump as their leader believes in all sorts of stupid shit?

Really, this is no more ridiculous than supply-side economics, creationism, white supremacy, or any other of the myriad idiocies that their ilk embrace so enthusiastically.

…reading "Sexual harassment at this work station will not be tolerated. It will, however, be graded."
He frequently bragged about it on air.

Conservatives have always tried to dismiss sexual harassment as a nonissue. Tucker Carlson once said it doesn't exist. That tells you all you need to know about the Pussygrabber's party.
