Very fluid race. The debates and NH primary could change everything. nt Cognitive_Resonance Jan 2012 #8

Repug voters might not be to bright but even they are not completely stupid! Romney and Huntsman are the only two that are not completely nuts!

I won't bet the ranch on the wisdom of Republican voters. After the Tea Party takeover of the GOP, I wouldn't put it past the Republican Party's base to successfully propell Santorum all the way to Tampa and the Republican presidential nomination.

I have lost my faith in the averge Republican primary voter to make responsible and competent choices within their party's primary. For someone who is one of the less-progressive and more centrist-minded people posting here, that is quite an evolution. But after watching the Republicans' behavior for the last 20 years, I think that the GOP's responsible elements are going the same way as the passenger pigeon, giant ground sloths, and the North American camel.

If only Santorum was a ninja monkey, or if Newt was a space pirate, there would be some hope of stopping him.

NH is a given but if he wins SC by a considerable margin, there is little chance of him losing the nomination.
