Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) received a special visit at the Mayo Clinic from a longtime friend and colleague on Thursday. Former Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) traveled to Minnesota to spend time with Jackson, Jr. who is undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder.

This ilness with JR is a real problem. His seat was redistricted and he has a Pubic Hair challenger. Can he even run? Is he fit to run. If not what happend to the seat. Can we subsitute somebody like Valarie Jarret or maybe Jesse Sr. We don't want to see the seat vacated.

his district is solidly dem, and they will be turning out for obama. he could be replaced on the ballot if he requested to do so. but i think he will be fine.
wish him all the luck. hard to have something like this play out in public. look forward to the day that it is not seen as any different from appendicitis.

I've had friends who've suffered from mental illness. The thing I'm worried about is the Rethugs attacking him specifically on his mental illness. Yes, there's no place so low that they won't stoop to it.
