Todd Akin Staying In Missouri Senate Race

EVAN MCMORRIS-SANTORO 1:19 PM EDT, MONDAY AUGUST 20, 2012

Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) dismissed calls from fellow Republicans to drop out of the Missouri Senate race during an appearance on Mike Huckabee's radio show Monday, following his "legitimate rape" flap.

"I'm not a quitter and my belief is we're going to take this thing forward," Akin said.

not lose any.

The Republicans are in serious, serious trouble - all of them. All 10 that are up this year, and all 235+ - all we have to ask is where the hell are our jobs and why the hell is our money going to the 1%'ers instead of us so we can create DEMAND.

Supply needs DEMAND.

Money meet the wage earners and raise it by 25% every year. Then you will ALWAYS have money back. Invest it to the workers a little bit - Henry Ford had the right idea.

Aug 2012

I hope every damn one of the Tea Party Republicans who were elected in 2010 lose their seats in Congress. The Tea Party has effectively destroyed the GOP by their "no compromise" policy and also by MItch McConnell's remark that their #1 priority was the defeat of Barack Obama... not the creation of jobs or working to improve the economy but to defeat the President.

I live in Georgia where we have a Republican governor and 2 Republican US Senators. My county votes 65% Republican so as one of a handful of liberal Democrats I am about as welcomed as a bad rash on their GOP posteriors.

Right now they are trending that the GOP will pick up 5 senate seats including Missouri. We'll win Massachusetts and it looks like an independent will win Maine (he's progressive but says he doesn't know who he will side with if he wins). If he goes democrat that would leave the senate tied with toss up race in Arizona. IF Akin stays in the race then there is a good chance we'll keep Missouri AND keep the Senate.

If we keep Akin we'll win Missouri, no question about it. Too many people here are absolutely disgusted and appalled with his comments. Even conservatives here are begging him to leave the race and more than a few are saying that he needs to leave public service for good.

Now that we have Claire's reelection in hand, we need to take back Ike Skelton's 4th district. Vicky Hartzler currently has it but Teresa Hensley is actually a good candidate who I'm hoping will poll well-as long as the polls are independent polls. We need more seats in the House and the 4th was solidly blue until 2010.
