'Bigger than Watergate!' Trump launches furious Twitter rant accusing Obama of election meddling

Source: RawStory

President Donald Trump on Monday unleashed a furious tweet accusing former President Barack Obama of doing too much and too little to stop Russia from helping him get elected president.

-snip-

Directly after accusing Obama of doing too much to interfere in the election to help Hillary Clinton win, Trump said that Obama didn’t do enough to stop Russia from undermining Clinton’s candidacy.

-snip-

Despite his furious rants, however, the facts contradict the president’s theory that Obama launched an investigation into his campaign to help Hillary Clinton win.

In the first place, the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign was not publicly revealed until months after Trump had been elected president. What’s more, former FBI Director James Comey did publicly reveal that his agency was taking a fresh look at Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server just 11 days before the 2016 election — while not mentioning anything about Trump’s campaign being investigated.

The entire tRump family is up to their necks in illegal deeds. Nixon had a good family, free of scandals. Pat Nixon NEVER had nude photos circulating worldwide. The Nixon daughters married fine, upstanding men. Nothing like this despicable, scum associating tRump clan.

If nothing happened as per Russia/Trump then why is it President Obama's
fault that he did nothing?

Hello 9-11, Nobody robbed the bank and btw how come the police didn't stop
the bank robbery?

BTW Obama imposed sanctions on Russia and Trump has blocked them so much for
Obama doing nothing.

Saw this quite a lot during the W. Bush years. It keys off of the emotional attachment to "innocent until proven guilty", but extends it to such an extent that it would preclude all investigation. It's a horrifying, interesting, effective, and pernicious piece of propaganda. I see people fall for it all the time - perhaps DTs egregious example will help flag this as the technique it is.

The presumption of innocence in a criminal proceeding merely sets the playing field for "who must prove what" in a trial.

It is not "words to live by", and you are correct that if there was some general legal duty to consider all persons to be innocent, then no crimes would ever be investigated or prosecuted. The standards for various levels of a criminal investigation are "reasonable suspicion" (for taking a quick look at something, brief detention, etc.) up to "probable cause" (for obtaining search warrants or making an arrest).

Quite obviously, if you see someone go into a bank with a gun and hold it up, you are under no sort of requirement to consider that person "innocent until proven guilty". That's for the jury when they walk into a court. You, of course, know that person to be guilty because you saw them rob the bank.

He's cried wolf so many times that no one is listening to him anymore, with perhaps the exception of Mueller (I hope Mueller is listening). I'm afraid that tRUMP is going to illegally call out the troops for some made up excuse when the 2018 elections gets a little more closer to reality.

tRUMP exactly the kind of egomaniac that would do this. When this happens I'll see what the republican controlled congress does then...their true complicity of their nature will be revealed to all, and the republicans will have lost their chances for any governing ever in this country. Record protests and mobs shall greet the federal troops if they even leave their bases, and tRUMP and the republicans will be dumbfounded by the sheer amount of hatred and protests that their actions have caused.

Maybe a wish on my birthday cake, but in reality, a kind of scary thought that we've gotten to this point.

Good portents do come, based on the fact that so many formerly held legislative seats held by the gop runts are now held by democrats.

GOTV!
