Graham: Trump firing Mueller would be 'the beginning of the end of his presidency'

By Jennifer Hansler, CNN

Updated 11:00 AM ET, Sun March 18, 2018

(CNN)Sen. Lindsey Graham gave a stern warning Sunday to President Donald Trump against firing special counsel Robert Mueller.

"As I said before, if he tried to do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency," the South Carolina Republican said on CNN's "State of the Union."

"The only reason that Mr. Mueller could be dismissed is for cause. I see no cause when it comes to Mr. Mueller," Graham said, later adding he believed the Mueller was "doing a good job."

Graham called for Mueller to be able to carry out his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election "independent of any political influence."

Graham has talked a big game against 45 in the past. He's never kept his spine though. Always ends up supporting party over country.

I suspect Graham will change his mind and end up supporting Trump. He does a lot of that. Talks all independent but when push come to shove he falls in line with the rest of them.

"The only reason Mr Mueller could be dismissed is for cause." Well, well. Wasn't Mr McCabe fired "for cause?"

And Mr Graham is a senator. Impeachment bills must originate in the House. Dagnabbit, he can't control what them-uns do in the House.

Happened on the first Tuesday of November 2016, when the country appeared to elect someone they KNEW to be a bigoted, pussy-grabbing, serially bankrupt, contractor-cheating shady businessman and con artist to be President. This was never destined to end well from Day One.

However Graham feels about Cheeto firing his BFF, Bitchy Mitchy will never allow impeachment to go forward as long as he's majority leader - same with Eddie Munster.
