Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said on Sunday that Americans know President Trump doesnt always tell the truth and many wonder about his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Asked by Meet the Press host Chuck Todd if people care about the Russia investigation, Brown said there is interest.
People know he doesnt tell the truth about a whole lot of things and I think people overwhelmingly wonder about President Trump when he calls everybody else names, including people in his own party, but he never criticizes Putin, Brown said.
I would guess 70, 80 percent of people in Ohio, including Trump voters, really do wonder what exactly it is between Putin and Trump that we dont know details about yet, Brown added.

(39,405 posts)We do not need a new Cold War or hot one with Russia.
Whatever the end game to get Trump out of office, we need to figure out how to co-exist with them.

(39,405 posts)Hillary called for actions like a no-fly zone over Syria that even Pentagon generals said would lead direct confrontation with Russia.
And expanding NATO right up to their borders, placing anti-missile systems there, and backing a neo-nazi coup in Ukraine are provocations that seem to invite a rash action from Russia, which they so far haven't done.

(637 posts)In addition to crippling sanctions I would find someway to remind them of their place in the military pecking order. They arent going to nuke us unless we invade them and without their nukes the US military would go through them like shit through a goose. That should be displayed through large NATO excercises in Poland and the Baltics.
Fuck them.

(37,748 posts)I think you're inferring a tone that is not there. Seems the US is handling Moscow with kid gloves, and nothing else. Even the recently announced sanctions were simply a series of hold-over sanctions already in place.
But if you can point us towards specific examples used by policy makers objectively indicating a desire for conflict, I'd certainly like to read it. Otherwise, your entire premise is predicated on one, and only one interpretation.

(5,732 posts)you don't think rigging the election was an act of war? You don't think hacking into our nuclear power plants was act of war? wake up and smell the vodka, the cold war didn't end when we destroyed the former USSR. Putin has wanted revenge as long as he has been in power.
And the president of the US works for him, that is an act of treason.
It is that simple

I hope not.
convict Trump of treason, do whatever you want to get him out of office, but when it comes to dealing with our only nuclear peer, people have to get their heads out of their asses and start talking like competent adults instead necons.
