McCain rips Trump's congratulatory call to Putin as an insult to Russian people

Source: The Hill

BY MAX GREENWOOD - 03/20/18 01:29 PM EDT

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) blasted President Trump on Tuesday over news that Trump phoned Russian President Vladimir Putin to congratulate him on his recent electoral win.

-snip-

In a statement, McCain called Trump's phone call to Putin an insult to "every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election to determine their country's future."

“An American president does not lead the Free World by congratulating dictators on winning sham elections," McCain said.

"And by doing so with Vladimir Putin, President Trump insulted every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election to determine their country's future, including the countless Russian patriots who have risked so much to protest and resist Putin's regime."

overseas at least if, when and until we have industries that produce those items for competitive prices. For young people that will eat away at some of the tax break that the Republicans are pretending to give them. It will matter less to those of us who drive old cars and use the old pots, pans, etc. that we bought years ago.

While they're still attacking us, and now have our Nuclear power stations in a threatening situation. Now trump congratulates Putin, and the RepubliCONS in Congress say and do nothing from allowing this and weakening of our institutions. They all should be voted out of office for this alone. This is worse than disgraceful, and shameful, this is treasonous to our country.

There's plenty to be pissed off about that Cheeto Benito has done, this is flat out silly.

As for McCain, talk is cheap. Leaving a corrupt party is Action.

At least Scarborough and many others have done just that.

But Republicans are just mouthing words, nothing more.

I do wish John the best. Maybe he can come back to DC and publicly leave the corrupt party behind.
