(CNN) -- A manhunt for a serial killer is under way in Southern California after the fatal stabbings of three homeless men, authorities said.
In a span of 10 days last month, three transient men were killed in Anaheim, Brea and Placentia, according to police.
"Each victim was stabbed multiple times," said Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department.
Investigators believe it's the same assailant, he said, and urged the homeless to stay in groups, and avoid sleeping in dark and secluded areas.

I've worked with them and know they have
no regard for life.
Easy initiation targets- the homeless.

(3,622 posts)when we start collecting our revenue again... levy compulsory tax revenue without favor and place liens on those who are derelict. Fire Congress members who do not do their job of collecting revenue. Its like we have a business without a sales generation core. How stupid are we now?

(8,492 posts)A good friend of mine is homeless. A Viet Nam vet. He's smart, caring, and extremely independent. Although he's constantly offered places to stay, he won't take anyone up on it unless the weather is particularly bad. Our local cops all know him and are always trying to take him to shelters. To force him to stay in one would be cruel.
So, we all take turns buying him dinner, giving him some cash, and my son recently gave him one of his spare military sleeping bags and a bag full of MREs, which my friend said he would give to the other homeless in the park down the street. If the weather is really bad and he still refuses a shelter, we all pitch in for a motel. Oh, and when he's at our local bar we let him pick the music for the juke box. It's like a bad flashback. But, he gets everyone singing along.
I'm not sure what to do with the men and women like him. They deserve their freedom, but we have to worry about their safety and well-being.

(8,492 posts)He's happy with the way things are. He likes to be alone. Society could become Utopia and he'd still choose to sleep under a tree by himself.

(2,110 posts)"What motivates the killer is a subject of furious speculation. David Deisher, 52, who has been homeless in Santa Ana for about a year, said his first thought was that the killer must be a Satanist making blood sacrifices. Or maybe it's a "thrill killer" who will have to keep escalating the attacks to achieve satisfaction, he added. Others on the street said the slayings might be a gangland initiation."

(17,162 posts)I seriously doubt it is a serial killer.
Much more likely some new gang initiation.
Life has no value to them.
