(CNN)Larry Nassar's former boss at Michigan State University used his power to sexually harass, assault, and solicit nude photos from female students, according to a criminal complaint. William Strampel, the former dean of MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine, has been charged with one felony count of misconduct in office, according to court documents.

He is also charged with three additional misdemeanor charges: one charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two charges of willful neglect of duty, court documents state.

The criminal complaint details statements from four female students who described disturbing instances of Strampel's abuse of power in the time he served as dean, from 2002 to 2018.

He groped women's buttocks at events and demeaned the way they dressed, the complaint states. In one 2013 incident, Strampel allegedly told a female student she needed to learn her place in life, and asked her, "What do I have to do to teach you to be submissive and subordinate to men?"

for Nassar and his methods. I have to wonder if the DO college is even going to survive this.

They need to track this woman down as well along with the other three experts.

Dr. Brooke Lemmen removed "several boxes of confidential treatment records" from Michigan State University's Sports Medicine Clinic at Nassar's request, according to documents in her personnel file that the Lansing State Journal obtained Friday through the Freedom of Information Act. She also didn't tell the university in July 2015 that Nassar had told her that USA Gymnastics was investigating him, according to the documents.

William Strampel, dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, told Lemmen in a Dec. 12 letter that her lack of disclosure regarding the USA Gymnastics investigation was "troubling" because she was one of the four medical experts MSU relied on during a 2014 internal Title IX investigation that cleared Nassar of sexual assault allegations.

Why are most of the coaches of women athletes male? There are plenty of fully quality women to coach these girls and young women athletes. It's time to promote women coaches and referees, as well as more women doctors and trainers.

From the same article:

Part of Forsyth's investigation included a search of Strampel's office computer in February 2018, where investigators discovered about 50 photos that contained nudity and pornography, many of which appear to be selfies of female MSU students, the complaint states.

Forensic examination of the computer showed someone had attempted to delete some of the photos, the complaint states. Investigators also uncovered pornographic videos on his work computer, as well as a video of Nassar performing his so-called "treatment" on a young female patient. Many of the doctor's abuse victims described a procedure in which he would insert his fingers in their vagina without wearing surgical gloves.
...
In June 2017, a medical student visited Strampel to appeal a test score she received on an exam, the complaint states. He suggested that 26-year-old women -- the age of the student -- can "put out" for 20 minutes with an old man, after which he would fall asleep, and in return the woman would get a free vacation, the complaint states.

During that meeting, Strampel also made unprompted comments about taking nude photos that she interpreted as a request to send nude photos to him in exchange for special treatment, the complaint states.

USC medical school dean out amid revelations of sexual harassment claim, $135,000 settlement with researcher

After the dean of USC's medical school resigned last year amid long-running complaints about his drinking and boorish treatment of colleagues, university leaders assured students and faculty that his successor would be worthy of respect.

The man USC chose, however, had a black mark on his own personnel record: A finding by the university 15 years ago that he had behaved inappropriately toward a female medical school fellow.

USC formally disciplined the dean, Dr. Rohit Varma, in 2003 following allegations that he sexually harassed the young researcher while he was a junior professor supervising her work, according to confidential personnel records reviewed by The Times and interviews with people familiar with the university investigation.

As The Times was preparing to publish a story disclosing the case, USC announced Thursday afternoon that Varma was no longer dean.

Former USC Medical School Dean Accused of Being Involved With Prostitute, Illegal Drugs
July 17, 2017 at 9:18 pm
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A former dean of the USC’s Keck School of Medicine is accused of being linked to a scandal that involves illegal drugs, a prostitute and partying with teenagers.

A woman who said she had worked as a prostitute in Huntington Beach claimed Dr. Carmen Puliafito, 66, paid for her living expenses and bought her drugs.

The world-renowned eye surgeon was the focus of a Los Angeles Times report, which claimed he had a “circle of criminals and drug users who said he used methamphetamine and other drugs with them.”

In March 2016, a woman overdosed in his presence in a Pasadena hotel room, according to the newspaper.
