Poll: Majority of Republicans say FBI is framing Trump

Last edited Thu May 10, 2018, 04:56 PM - Edit history (1)

Source: The Hill

A majority of Republicans said President Trump is being framed by the FBI and the Department of Justice, according to a new poll from The Economist/YouGov released Wednesday.

When asked if Trump is being framed, 61 percent of Republicans said he is. Seventeen percent said he is not and 21 percent said they are not sure.

The number is dramatically different among Democrats, with only 7 percent believing Trump is facing a biased FBI that is framing him. The majority of Democrats — 78 percent — said he is not being framed.

One-fourth of independents said he is being framed, compared to the 39 percent who said he is not.

Those numbers portend a body count, a reckoning, a reset. Those numbers spell defeat, if they do not shift as the evidence emerges.

7% of Democrats are insane, btw.

.... Republicans believed that Iraq had something to do w/9-11 and that Saddam Hussein had
smuggled all of his WMDs out Iraq before we invaded. To Trump's base the Mueller investigation
proves to them that the media and the deep state left behind by President Obama is out to get
him because that is what Trump and Fox say.. BTW these are the same people who smile as they
cheer "lock her up" about Hillary.

If any prominent Republican is in any trouble the majority of Republicans will view it as a conspiracy against them unless that Republican was considered a RINO for whatever reason.

People unquestioningly support personalities now. They see it as their mission to lie for Trump and destroy his opponents. Justifying the murder of journalists and opponents won’t be far behind.

The canary in the coal mine is skeletal at this point.

Who was it (a retired general perhaps) who said a few years ago that the U.S. is one major terrorist attack away from ditching the Constitution all together?

Maybe some will get disgusted enough to stay home election day, but the path to victory lies in turning out large numbers of Dem voters.

If a pollster calls and asks if you are a republican, you would likely say "no" or "independent" if you were disgusted with what is going on and they wouldn't ask you your opinion, or at least not count it in the poll of republicans.

So this is really a poll of hard core right wingers. Not republicans as a group including republican friendly indies.

Only 25% of indies felt that way. And most of those are republican voters.

People who self identified as republicans were only 25% of the population before trump. I'm sure its a lot lower now.

So no, half the country doesn't feel this way.

Always use that excuse to help others out with. The Gop is going to get charged for their involvement, and they know its going to catch up with them soon. The truth is their worse enemy now.

The party of law and order, has shown you what they are. Worst, they have shown you how little they respect you. Law enforcement, during the 1980 thru early 1990s was democratic.

It also might be good for law enforcement, let's try. Democratic Party, reach out.
