The mayor of a North Carolina town said Friday that an incident involving a white police officer choking and slamming a black man to the ground was not "racially motivated."

Warsaw, N.C., Mayor A.J. Connors on Friday defended the town's police after a video showing the incident went viral.

"This is not a racially motivated issue," Connors said in a video posted to Facebook on Friday, according to the Washington Post and Raleigh's News & Observer. "This was just a young man who had broken the law and a law enforcement officer arrested him."

He noted that "unfortunately physical contact took place" but asked viewers to put aside preconceptions and "quit calling the police department and making threats."

Who hadn't even done anything at all.
Its a power trip for these guys, white & black.
Certainly there ARE racists out there on a police force, but the number of abusive cop incidents like this cover a ton of whites too. Because those cops have a need to force "respect" and show everyone how "tough" they are.
This kid wasnt resisting, just as in the video I posted.
I have no problem with a cop doing whatever is needed when they're being fought or attacked. That didnt happen here.
So the mayor says its not racial; that doesnt mean its OK. He didnt have to slam him down. I didnt hear him tell the kid to get on the ground or any other command.

And, this cop is a well-known bully, and loves to pull over people just to fuck with them. He was a bully in high school who git his badge so he could keep on being a bully.

The Feds need to investigate teh entire police force, but won't under 45.

Secondly, saying that choking and slamming is done to all suspects regardless of who they are, is not making them look any better.

Authorities say they can not comment - on whether or not - officers had body cams.

Someone has a video that shows the arrested party has his arm's up in the air.
