While on Capitol Hill today, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told the House Foreign Affairs Committee that the Trump administration is committed to taking action against any potential Russian interference in the midterms.

“We will not tolerate Russian interference in our 2018 elections,” he said. “Much work has been done, there’s more to do. Rest assured that we will take the appropriate counter-measures in response to the continued Russian efforts.”

At one point during today’s hearing Pompeo said, “There is a great deal more work to do. Having said that, I’m incredibly proud of the work that this administration has done in countering Russia. It is light years better than was done in the previous administration… We have not been able to achieve effective deterrence of some of these efforts of the Russians, but this administration has taken enormous efforts to push back against Russia that haven’t been done in an awfully long time.”
