Franklin Graham hosting 10 rallies in California urging Christians to vote

Source: The Hill

Evangelist leader and vocal President Trump supporter Franklin Graham is currently on tour in California to urge Christians to vote in the upcoming primary as part of an attempt to combat progressive policy in the state, The New York Times reported.

Graham, son of the late Billy Graham, is taking a three-bus caravan up the middle of California, which is home to some of the most contested elections this year.

He plans to hold 10 rallies to urge evangelicals to vote, the Times reported. His tour will end on June 5, the day of the primary.

“The church just has to be wakened,” he told the Times. “People say, what goes in California is the way the rest of the nation is going to go. So, if we want to see changes, it is going to have to be done here.”

If we even dare think about going after their nest egg, they will fight back hard and turn it into a SCOTUS issue - and if ever gets to that point, with Gorsuch on their side, it will mean the end of the Johnson Amendment. And if you haven't noticed - Trump has been going hard after it, and has been stirring up the crazies with some ultra far right rhetoric about it. We need to tread extremely carefully if we're going to take them down.

If removing the Johnson Amendment from the Tax Code allows conservative/right wing religious institutions to 'politic' from the pulpit, without losing their tax exempt status, it also allows middle of the road and left wing churches to do the same.

I am confident that if it were not for the tax code/non profit/religious issue, we would see more of the progressive churches involving themselves in political and social issues.

These things always have a flip side. It is up to the moderate churches to take advantage of the liberation this will give them.

I do a daily Bible study with my husband that covers the entire Bible in a year and I noticed that there are no white people. Jesus waa described as having feet the color of bronze or burned brass and hair like wool.

wait for it........the European peoples Jesus has always been blond or brown-haired, with blue eyes and white skin. I guess Jesus must reflect those who are trying to dominate other cultures and races as has happened in the last melania or so. 2000 years or so? So a brown Jesus is getting it right so this dominance shit can stop. That's why it matters to me.

on the basic assumption that white people were made in the image of God who must also be white. But we know Jesus is the Son of God whose mother Mary was inseminated by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was black with hair like wool. According to the attached study, there's no connection between ancient Jews and present day European Jews. This makes sense to me. It also explains how Judaism found its way to Europe. https://www.haaretz.com/jewish/.premium-ashkenazis-derive-from-euro-women-1.5348602

While I don't claim any religion, I love the HOLY BIBLE which is the ancient spiritual history of black people. We need to recognize it as OUR history and make sure white people know we know it's our spiritual history which we have generously shared with the world for centuries.

So yes it matters.

And northern and lower southern climes made people lighter, although an eskimoes is a race with darker pigment in skin, No one race really is superior, it's a construct of divisiveness and the origins of that...??? Using the free version of E-Sword [e-sword dot net] [not religious but program comes in handy]
You figure out what each means, I just did copy/paste of results [no "fake news"]

search: brass feet [bronze found nothing]
using: search for all of the words [in a verse] [can use "exact order" typical search engine]
bible: KJV [from installed versions [many for free] King James, Good New, Basic English, American Standard]
from: bible [old & new testament, comments......]

(Eze 1 : 7)  And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
(Dan 7:19)  Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
(Dan 10:6)  His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
(Rev 1:15)  And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
(Rev 2:18)  And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

search: hair wool
(Dan 7 : 9)  I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

DISCLAIMER: I have no relationship with E-Sword, just find the program useful and hope others find the same. A bit complex but very powerful in what it does for "free".

Mon May 28, 2018, 09:25 AM
May 2018

The references to a "creature" make me think it's referring to the angels and living creatures that various biblical figures saw in visions or dreams. If these terms are also used to describe Jesus, I would think it's his "heavenly" aspect rather than his earthly aspect.

That said, every culture that has adopted Christianity has imagery showing Jesus as their own race, so Europeans making him look white is hardly surprising. Asians have made him look Asian, in Africa there's imagery of Jesus as a black man, etc.

As for the historical Jesus, of course he wasn't white. He was Jewish, so he'd have looked pretty much just like any other Jewish person of the time.

CEOs at the top 50 U.S. charities, including Samaritan's Purse, earn in the $350,000 to $450,000 range, which makes Graham's $622,000 salary from his aid organization alone about 40 percent to 50 percent higher than average, according to a Forbes story. Aug 18, 2015

It makes me sick, thinking how FG is raking it in, jetting around, while people like my husband work long hours, stressed out, relying on years of experience, getting a difficult degree, just hoping to have enough to retire on some day around age 70.

Here is his early bio from Wiki:

William Franklin Graham III was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on July 14, 1952, to evangelist Billy Graham and Ruth Bell. He is the fourth of their five children.[4] As a teenager, Graham attended The Stony Brook School, a Christian private school on Long Island, New York, but was sent home and told not to return after a booze filled night in which his girlfriend, the headmasters daughter committed suicide and finished high school in North Carolina.[5]

In 1970, Graham attended LeTourneau College in Longview, Texas, and was expelled from the school for keeping a female classmate out past curfew.[6] In 1974, he graduated from Montreat-Anderson College, now Montreat College, with an A.S.[7] and in 1978 from Appalachian State University with a B.A.[8][9]

Awaken from what?

My opinion is that people are waking up to the fact that so called evangelical leaders and their so called religion (such as Graham's fraction as well as all of the others) have misled their followers over numerous and false claims and then ignoring the obvious evidence of infidelity by RUMP (grab their P***Y etc. type of garbage talk, at least 2 marriage breakups, sex w/ a minor) and other sins such as lying, cheating, stealing, you name it.

My opinion is that I'm sick and tired of these so called leaders of morality standing up w/ such blatant ignorance of the facts and approving of RUMP. Each one of them should be ashamed of themselves and all their self-centered action on behalf of RUMP. I've been around the block for some time now, and the last thing I need is some idiot w/ a bible and their own interpretation of the 'facts' as stated in the bible proclaiming this and proclaiming that, even if they are a big shot 'Mr. Graham'. Get the blank out of my face.

That's fine, they have the right within their walls to do as they wish. Their actions in supporting a bigot, and all of the other crap that RUMP is sickeningly guilty of, will led to less interest in the church, less money in their donation buckets, and is leading to a very serious collision between state and church, as the constitution demands, over the last couple of election cycles.

How easily they can be led around by the nose by any pos leader that simply wants to. They are conditioned to not question authority, so anyone can assume that position if he, or she, says all the 'right ' things.

And other reason is how no prominent leader, respected by the community, comes out against Trump, or before that Bush. Puts himself on the line to stand up for the actual teachings of Jesus, if it contradicts the Republican party platform.

According to them, Catholics are not Christians either.

https://billygraham.org/decision-magazine/october-2012/can-an-evangelical-christian-vote-for-a-mormon/

"We need something like what Jerry Falwell did in the 1980s. We need a “moral majority”-made up of Christians, Jews, Mormons, Catholics and many others of faith-to come together to take a stand for our religious freedoms and rights."
