Source: The Advocate/AP

A spokesman for Gov. John Bel Edwards said Wednesday that the Democrat has signed the bill, which would only take effect if a federal court upholds a similar law in Mississippi.

The measure imposes a prison sentence of up to two years for someone who performs the procedure after 15 weeks. A woman who has an abortion could not be criminally charged under the bill.

Democratic Sen. John Milkovich, who sponsored the legislation, said the state is taking a step in the right direction. He has repeatedly said he wants to see Louisiana ban abortions outright.

Let me guess: "Big Tent!!!!" "They vote with us 75% of the time!!!!" "Something something Will Rogers quote!!!!!" "Regional differences!!!!" "Republicans wouldn't be any better!!!"

By all means, if I missed some other line of horseshit that will be shoveled out as excuses for this please feel free to add them.

Some privileged someone whose rights are not being eroded and who takes offense at me for thinking that the rights of people of color or women or the LGBT community are non-negotiable.

..I don't know about you but I feel a lot more comfortable with someone who has a D after their name throwing the life, health and rights of my wife and daughter out the window. It just has a more comforting feel to it, don't you think?
