Ron Paul supporters come up short in rules fight
Source: Washington Post
TAMPA Grassroots Republican activists and Ron Paul supporters came up shy in their effort to beat back two major rule changes Tuesday at the Republican National Convention.
Amidst a contentious scene on the floor of the convention, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) ruled that the committee rules had passed by a voice vote despite loud protest from many in the arena.
Delegates many of them from the Texas delegation, where Paul serves in Congress booed loudly after Boehner made the ruling and chanted point of order in an attempt to order a re-vote.
Soon, though, the fervor died down, and the business of the convention proceeded.

This is an outrage! Ron Paul should run for President as a write-in! Or his supporters should stay home and boycott the election in November! Stand up and fight for your principles, Paulites!

(51,520 posts)Don't take this sitting down. Make Ron use all that money you gave him from your minimum-wage jobs and use it to run as an independent. Insist that Ron Paul stick to his guns...er, principles.

(949 posts)were going absolutely nuts over this, and they're not supporters of Luap Nor, either.
They reckoned it was a "war on conservatives"; even Sarah Palin got into the act. I checked out some of the tweets from Michelle Malkin and she was practically apoplectic.

I think Romney is REALLY screwed. This was supposed to be an exciting moment and it really fell flat.

(285 posts)I really tried to give the televised parts of the Paul shadow convention a honest shot, but the speakers I saw just came off as crazy....just could not take any thing seriously that was said in that weird way they have....true believers give me the willies.

(11,464 posts)it's not about Ron Paul or Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan
TPTB are all Bush people, and this is solely for the benefit of Jeb in 2012 to stop any
one else who is not strong or is unknown at the start
and no one seemed to notice it
it's also surprising Mittens is stupid enough not to notice it himself
and Ron Paul and his son are a fraud, not someone the democrats should even give a second thought to. If only we heard the last of them. We should demand an audit of them.
