Aussie anti-whaling 'pirates' to come home
"We are pleased that the Japanese government has made a decision that these three men won't be charged and will be released," Nicola Roxon told Channel Nine today.

Japan's Kyodo news service says the two governments are trying to find the best way to return the men - Geoffrey Tuxworth, Simon Peterffy and Glen Pendlebury - to Australian authorities, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Ms Roxon said the government's top priority was to contact the men and ensure their safety and well-being, although she noted they had boarded the vessel "with their eyes open".

"I understand many, many millions of Australians want whaling to stop," she said. "But if people take the law into their own hands there are consequences for doing that. We can't simply enforce our will upon a boat which is flagged to another nation and not in our territorial waters."

Thanks for the news, Bodhi BloodWave. The only thing better would be the whalers would go home, leave these sentient animals alone.

As of now I still support the whaling of some species while being vehemently against others(mainly linked to how endangered they are), tho if I were to be shown undeniable proof of their sentience then I would be opposed to it by default.
According to my news article tho i would say that atleast 2 of those protesters were reckless about their health/lives since one(Simon) has high cholesterol and didn't bring his medication with him, whereas the other(Glen) has ADHD and didn't bring his medication.
I also don't envy the Australian government's task of dealing with the logistics of bringing the 3 people back home since its likely to be a nightmare to figure out
