Romney to Louisiana to survey Isaac fallout

Source: Politico

Mitt Romney is going to New Orleans today to examine the damage from Hurricane Isaac this week, a source told POLITICO.

He'll skip his planned rally in Virginia and meet with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who missed his own convention speech, for the second time in a row, to stay at home and deal with the storm, according to Fox News' Carl Cameron.

-snip-

Isaac never rose to Katrina levels, but it did wreak havoc in Louisiana, and the trip is a way for Romney to show attentiveness to it that he couldn't while the convention was still going on. It also puts him in the state before President Obama.

And he's hoping to change the subject after the Clint Eastwood debacle last night.

Rather presumptious of him. I can just see it now: "While President Obama was campaigning, Romney was touring the damage from Hurricane Isaac." WTF?

Hurricane Clint tore that sucker up and spit it out the other side -- can't un-ring that bell - and it was a real dingbell. Appropriate for the party, but a dingbell nonetheless

When nobody shows up for his political rally, they will claim it is because the population evacuated.

was in real trouble. And when he gets there he has nothing to offer the victims as he is not in power of any of the agencies that could help. Plus President Obama has already started the help process.

Romney offers aid to hurricane victims in the form of discount coupons for featured Marriot,Residence Inn and Courtyard By Marriot Hotels from coast-to-coast with complimentary continental breakfast.
I can't wait for his obligatory verbal gaffes to be ignored by the liberal media.
