The comments came as friction has been growing between South Korea and the U.S. over how to use economic pressure in the effort to get North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons. North Korea has repeatedly demanded that the U.S. lift sanctions, saying it has already made significant concessions, including the dismantlement of a missile launch site and a nuclear-weapons testing facility.
