WASHINGTON — Democrats hold a 7-point advantage over Republicans in the final national NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll before Tuesday’s midterm elections, with both parties showing record enthusiasm and interest in the upcoming contests.

Fifty percent of likely voters say they prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, while 43 percent want Republicans in charge. That’s down from Democrats’ nine-point advantage in October’s NBC/WSJ poll, though the change is well within the poll’s margin of error.

(Among the wider pool of registered voters, Democrats lead Republicans by six points, 49 percent to 43 percent.)

Democrats lead with likely African-American voters (84 percent to 8 percent), Latinos (57 percent to 29 percent), voters ages 18-34 (57 percent to 34 percent), women (55 percent to 37 percent) and independents (35 percent to 23 percent).

There are a lot people like me, who don't answer the phone when the pollsters call. But we all know exactly who we're voting (have voted) for. It's going to be a Blue Wave for sure.

3. 7 points ahead is better than 7 pts behind, the fallacy we have in this kind of polling

is too general. I will tell you this a 7 point lead with a tremendous early vote and GOTV efforts can look like a 20pt lead

5. This is troubling, considering it's Trump & spineless Repubs. Particularly the Independent number.

Independents are pretty important.

It's good, but not as good as I would expect, and not as good as a month ago, I think.

If people show up, though...

I just saw a thread on Twitter two days ago, dozens of people who were saying they were not going to vote or were not really into it until how horribly treated Kavanaugh was, and they are breathing fire now - and, it was mostly younger white females - not shitting you.

The pull of white victimhood is DEEP.

Together with 45 beating the brown people are invading the country bullshit ...

Been seeing the conservatives on my Facebook timeline ginning themselves up to think Ds are attacking SS.

Post truth/reality USA is a DEFCON 1 stupid.

and Trump having the bully pulpit. The Republicans are experts at drumming home talking points. They send out the dogs to all the media, all using the key word talking points, to drum the message into voters' brains. They are better at that than the Democrats, who I think are less likely to do talking points for a boss (Dems being more independent).

People really think that the whole thing was fake and orchestrated by the Democrats.

Unless it was like a 60 point lead, then I would assume we're safe!
