President Donald Trump has been very unapologetic about his tough talk for years, but now he claimed in an interview with WJLA that he has regrets about his tone as President.

WJLA political correspondent Scott Thuman asked the President in an interview today if he has any regrets from his presidency so far on anything he wishes he could “take back and redo.”

“Well, there would be certain things,” Trump answered. “I’m not sure I’d want to reveal all of them. But I would say tone. I would like to have a much softer tone. I feel to a certain extent I have no choice. But maybe I do and maybe I could have been softer from that standpoint.”

Trump’s tone during his presidency has not really changed much from the 2016 campaign cycle. Just last month, he was asked if he regretted accusing Ted Cruz‘s father of helping kill JFK and if he regretted praising a Republican congressman who bodyslammed a reporter. Both times he said he did not, and in the case of the former, he offhandedly said, “I don’t regret anything.”

Trump on Potential Dem Investigations Into His Tax Returns: ‘I Don’t Care, They Can Do Whatever They Want,’ So Can I

President Donald Trump held a pool spray on Monday where he dismissed the political implications of Democrats having a strong showing in the midterm elections.

Trump spoke to reporters in the middle of his final blitz to gin up support for Republicans ahead of the elections. At one point, he was asked what he thinks will happen if Democrats take back control of Congress.

“We’ll just have to work a little bit differently,” Trump said. “I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Beyond expressing confidence over the GOP’s chances on Tuesday, Trump was also asked about the possibility that a Democrat-controlled Congress would launch new investigations into his elusive tax returns, and pursue other inquiries into his various affairs.

“I don’t care,” Trump said. “They can do whatever they want and I can do whatever I want.”
