Trump indicates he'd consider raising some taxes to win middle-class relief

Source: Politico

By TOBY ECKERT 11/07/2018 01:34 PM EST

President Donald Trump said today he would be willing to make "an adjustment" to recent corporate and upper-income tax cuts to bring Democrats to the table on his proposal to further cut taxes for the middle class.

His off-the-cuff comments are sure to spark concerns among Republican leaders who pushed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act through Congress last year without Democratic support, as well as businesses that fought hard for the tax cuts.

Asked at a press conference whether he would be willing to raise rates on corporations and wealthy individuals to get another middle-class tax cut, Trump replied: "It could be."

“As an example, if the Democrats come up with an idea for tax cuts, which I am a big believer in tax cuts, I would absolutely pursue something even if it means some adjustment,” Trump said.

His word means nothing, even if he did mean something today. He's just moving his mouth and seeing what sort of crap comes out.

employee more than 100 people (and this includes temp workers and franchises because corporations would try to hide behind them) do not pay at least 70% of their employees a minimum $28,350 a year hikes up to 60%.
The higher the % of employees that earn that amount in a company the lower the corporate taxes are and if they pay at least 95% of their employees that amount then I would have no problem with them paying as low as 5% in taxes.

I do not think he's married to an anti-tax perspective by any means - after all, he's raised import taxes.

Tariffs? Not for his family.

Tax cuts? He won't give those up....I read he/his org. benefits to the tune of $30 Million/year savings in taxes.

One trait of his: He does not give anything away from himself or his org. or family. If he appears to, that's because he gets the same or more from the trade. That's just part of his DNA.

He's just spouting off at the mouth, trying to stay in the news & appear reasonable. He says things a lot that he doesn't mean. He was for DACA, then wasn't. He says he has started the border wall, but he hasn't. And many other instances.

They need to beat his fat ass to the punch and come out with their own plan. How about a 12% tax cut for the MC up to xxxx$$ of income paid for by taking 9% from that Corporate cut (they still get about 5%) and then another 1-2% increase to the to top income level paid for by multi millionaires and billionaires.

Then when Trump,Turtle and Republicans turn it down flat Dems can bury them with commercials and mailers about how Republicans NEVER intended to do a MC tax cut,it was all a ploy for the 2018 mid-terms.

All of his loyal Trumpers who thought they got $25.00 more per pay are going to find out that they only had less taxes taken out by their employers.

No big return to pay their car and home owners insurance. No big return to go on vacation to the races.

If I were Dems I'd wait until after tax time and then go for total repeal and replace of Trump's tax cuts for the rich.

any advantage that they gain by the near doubling of the Standard Deduction will be offset by the elimination of the Personal Exemption and, for many, the cap on the SALT deduction.

He's not about to make any of the fat cat rich pay one dime more in taxes because it'd be too hard to do that and not raise taxes on himself and that's not what he does/ He steals from others, never gives anything.

His ugly orange assmouth was moving, so you are assured he's lying.

Return tax rates to what they were on the last day of the Clinton Administration. Use that money to bring the deficit to $100 billion, and spend the rest on infrastructure and job creation.

Not that he'd take the deal.

He MIGHT actually SAY he will, and then do the opposite - just as what we're now seeing start to play out in the Justice Department a level or two up from Robert Mueller.

But then there's one thing wherein he's consistent: Lying. Non-stop. Telling lies all the time! If he told me his name was donald trump I'd still feel like getting a second opinion.

I don't trust a single word out of his little sphincter mouth, so I really don't care what he's considering or not.
