Active shooter and multiple victims reported at Thousand Oaks bar

Police were responding to reports of a mass shooting that left several people injured and may have led to casualties Wednesday night inside a Thousand Oaks bar.
Emergency crews were responding to an "active shooter" inside the Borderline Bar & Grill, according to a tweet from the Ventura County Fire Department.
One law enforcement official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told The Times that at least 30 shots had been fired and that there are casualties.
According to witnesses at the scene, someone ran into the bar around 11:30 p.m. and started firing what appeared to be a black pistol.
"He shot a lot, at least 30 times. I could still hear gunshots after everyone left," said the person, who did not give a name.

Just heard on MSNBC from a cop that there are casualties, and multiple dead...
Also said there were several hundred inside at the time of the shootings.

Multiple people were reportedly injured after at least one gunman opened fire at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California, late Wednesday.
Police officers were called to Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks at around 11:20 p.m., The Ventura County Star reported. Officers at the scene told the newspaper that about 30 shots had been fired. At least four ambulances were called to the area to treat victims.
The Ventura County Fire Department confirmed just after midnight that there had been reports of “multiple injuries” at the bar.
“Please stay away from area,” the department urged in a tweet.

More from eyewitness John Hedge, who was inside the bar at thee time of the shooting.
"I was at the front door and I was talking to my stepdad. I just started hearing these big pops, pop, pop, pop,” Hedge told ABC7 Eyewitness News.
“There was probably three or four, I hit the ground. I look up—the security guard is dead…well, I don't want to say he was dead, but he was shot. He was down.
“The gunman was throwing smoke grenades all over the place. I saw him point to the back of the cash register...and he just kept firing. I ran out the front door.”

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say at least six people were shot — including a deputy — late Wednesday when a suspect opened fire in a crowded Southern California bar.
Police tell the Ventura County Star that the initial report came around 11:20 p.m. that a man opened fire at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, which is about 40 miles west of Los Angeles.
The extent of the victims’ injuries is not immediately known.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Garo Kuredjian said late Wednesday that it is still “a very active scene.”
