Trump could answer written Russia probe questions this week: source
Source: Reuters
(Reuters) - President Donald Trump is expected to provide written answers to questions from the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election as soon as this week, a person familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
The questions from Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Trump is preparing to answer relate only to Moscows involvement in the election, and not to whether Trump may have tried to obstruct the Russia investigation, the source told Reuters.
Among the topics covered is a June 2016 meeting between the presidents son, Donald Trump Jr., other members of Trumps campaign team and a group of Russians, the source said.
Trump met with his lawyers this week in anticipation of responding to the questions, according to the source.

(16,165 posts)accept questions, have lawyers look them over and parse language, ask questions about the questions, show up in wheelchair with caftan around shoulders, claim no recollection of questions. rinse, lather, repeat.
The headline is totally misleading. tRump's lawyers to submit back to Mueller questionnaire in writing. Don won't even be in the same room as the team of his expert story tellers.

(3,283 posts)His lawyers will write the answers. Unless he testifies in person, under oath, it's just theater.

(22,665 posts)How does he answer that without incriminating either his son or himself or both? It's a lose-lose for Trump, no matter if his lawyers do all of his answering for him.
Mueller is calling Check to Trump. Now it's Trump's move.
Mueller's got him by the balls now.

Afraid of a 'perjury trap' which is impossible if telling the truth.

Trump goes off-script and blurts out the extent of his crimes, believing he can talk his way out of trouble.
A nightmare client for any lawyer in either case.
