Proud Boys Founder Gavin McInnes Claims He's Quitting the Group

Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes claimed in a video today that he is quitting the group.

Multiple recent reports said that the FBI considers the Proud Boys an “extremist group with ties to white nationalism.”

In a video posted to YouTube, McInnes read from a statement saying, “As of today, November 21st, 2018, I’m officially disassociating myself from the Proud Boys in all capacities forever. I quit. I was told to use the term ‘stepping down,’ but I refused because that makes no sense. I was never the leader, only the founder.”

McInnes claimed he’s doing this “reluctantly,” bringing up the arrests of Proud Boys members following that violent brawl in New York last month.

When I first heard of Proud Boys and their founder I was so disappointed it was an Irish kid. He seems to miss out on the history of the same bigotry that could have effected his ancestors.
