Trump administration asks Supreme Court to immediately take up transgender military ban
By Robert Barnes
November 23 at 1:44 PM
The Trump administration on Friday once again asked the Supreme Court to bypass the usual legal process to take on another controversial issue -- President Trump's decision to ban transgender people from military service.
Solicitor General Noel J. Francisco asked the justices to consolidate the challenges to the ban -- which so far have been successful in lower courts -- and rule on the issue in its current term.
The challenges are to the administration's order that would prohibit transgender men and women from enlisting, possibly subject current service members to discharge and deny certain medical care. The order reverses an Obama administration policy allowing transgender men and women to serve openly and to receive funding for sex-reassignment surgery.
Federal judges so far have prohibited the Trump order from being implemented. ... "The decisions imposing those injunctions are wrong, and they warrant this Court's immediate review," Francisco wrote. (1)

The Trump administration wants to reverse-integrate the military as to transgender people. Transgender people are serving currently, and the Trump administration wants to end that. It's a remarkable position, and courts have called it out for what it is.

(32,674 posts)because of it, lets make so you are not taxed either. Seems they wouldnt want their money either.
Of course republicans would be lined up for surgery to get out of being taxed.

Good grief, what until the Dotard runs into that blue wave of investigations come January!
Bwahahahaha! Suck it, Dotard!

(12,649 posts)That's not a good enough reason.
What legitimate reason is the Administration supposedly banning Transgendered people from serving?
Lots of social issues go up before the Supreme Court, but SCOTUS is not going to hear such an issue just because someone in power thinks they have a greater Constitutional right than "those people" they don't like or approve of.
There has to be some compelling Constitutional reason, such as Due Process, or Equal Protection under the Law, for them to hear it.
