Trump 'Admonished' By Official After He Asked Iraq For Oil as Payback For War, Per New Report

Source: Mediate

by Aidan McLaughlin | Nov 25th, 2018, 6:14 pm

President Donald Trump repeatedly raised the prospect of Iraq repaying the United States for its war in the country with oil, according to a stunning new report.

Axios reported Sunday night that in 2017, Trump twice raised the prospect to Iraq’s then-Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. The ask, Axios noted, “runs afoul of international norms and logic.”

“It was a very run-of-the-mill, low-key, meeting in general,” a source who was in the room told Axios. “And then right at the end, Trump says something to the effect of, he gets a little smirk on his face and he says, ‘So what are we going to do about the oil?'”

The request reportedly brushed off by Trump’s Iraqi counterpart, but stunned U.S. officials present. “I remember thinking, ‘Wow. He said it. He couldn’t help himself,'” one source told Axios.

“It was a look down and reach for your coffee moment,” another source said. A third called it “one of those horror stories” early on in the administration.

billions if not trillions of dollars worth of damage to Iraq and its economy, he thinks we should get payment from them.

It's so pathetic that we have such a cluelessly selfish and dumb ass president who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

. . . the war was aged on a country that had not attacked the US.

In fact, if there was a tinpot dictator who had learned the hard way not to cross the US and its allies, it was Hussein. He flipped the bird to that crowd in 1991 and got his army's ass kicked.

He was the least threatening leader in that region. So what do we do, invade the wrong country. Unbrilliant.

We invaded their country when none of them asked us to. Countless innocent Iraqis died because they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he thinks they should give us free oil.

We're trapped in the theater with millions of zombies (Trumpistas) and we've run out of popcorn.

And toilet paper. How will we ever clean up all of Trump's shit?

Surely Cheney didn't plan to come right out and ask for it!

Then when the war proved to be such a disaster, even that plan had to be scrapped (my completely imagined scenario). But Trump was too stupid to realize that 'winner takes all' doesn't apply when you really don't actually win.

15. Danish oil company Maersk tried - and failed

Nov 2018

In June 2003 the Danish government appointed advisers - from Maersk - was doing their worst. The UK Deputy wrote that:
"... advised that Denmark was keen to capitalise commercially from its leading role in the South (although Ambassador Olsen was at pains to distance himself from that effort). Many of the Danish staff in ORHA South [Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance] were sponsored by private companies [there are currently three senior managers from Maersk]. Although they had agreed not to pursue commercial opportunities while working in ORHA, they were focusing their attention and expertise in areas which might offer commercial opportunities. ..."

Later on Maersk seized a big oil harbor, and started to use it as a company asset. But then when Iraq got a little better government, they threw Maersk out .

Making the big assumption, of course, that Caligula II is capable of being educated.
