Papadopoulos Reports To Federal Prison In Wisconsin

Former Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos reported Monday to a federal prison in Wisconsin, where he is sentenced to serve two weeks for lying to the FBI about Russia-related contacts during the 2016 campaign.
He reported to the satellite camp of the Federal Correctional Institution-Oxford, Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed. The camp is a minimum security detention center, according to the FCI Oxford’s website, about four hours away from Chicago, where Papadopoulos lived until recently moving to California.
While Papadopoulos put on a contrite face during his sentencing hearing in September, he has since railed against special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. He also attempted unsuccessfully to delay his incarceration date while an appeals court considers an unrelated case challenging Mueller’s authority. U.S. District Judge Randy Moss rejected that request Sunday.
His lawyers said in a statement that Papadopoulos decided not to appeal Moss’ decision for “practical reasons” and that “he will serve his sentence, and hopes to move on with his life.”
