Charlottesville suspect shared posts showing car driving into protesters before attack

Source: CNN

.
The man on trial for killing Heather Heyer at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year shared two images on Instagram that showed a car hitting protesters months before he did exactly that, according to court documents.

The images were released on Day Two of the trial of James Alex Fields Jr., who is accused of driving his Dodge Challenger into a crowd of counterprotesters during the August 2017 Unite the Right Rally, killing Heyer and injuring several others.

The posts -- shared in court documents posted to the city's website Friday -- are similar to each other. One was sent in a private message on May 12 while the other was a public post shared four days later, according to court filings.

Fields has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Heyer, a local paralegal who attended the rally to speak out against white supremacy and racism. He also faces five counts of malicious wounding, three counts of aggravated malicious wounding and one count of failing to stop at an accident involving a death.

https://www.cnn.com/2017/08/18/us/legislation-protects-drivers-injure-protesters/index.html

Lawmakers in North Dakota, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Texas proposed bills that would make it legal for drivers to hit protesters if the driver did not do so willfully, according to Mick Bullock, a spokesman for the National Conference of State Legislatures.
A similar bill also was introduced in Rhode Island, according to the state General Assembly's website.
The language in these bills is remarkably similar from state to state, and in some cases, nearly identical.

were definitely "willful" though. When you increase the speed of your vehicle for maximum bodily destruction and post pictures on Instagram of your intentions beforehand........ that pretty much shows premeditation, not a simple "bumping a protestor out of the way". This asshole is toast, even in the deepest red part of Virginia. I agree that these states are asking for trouble with that stupid law though, if they ever get them passed. Do you think these bills were all coordinated in those states by some of those "fine people" like the Proud Boys, Aryan Nation, or the KKK?

conservative assholes have posted about running down liberal protesters since the anti-war protests and black lives matter and other movements where people march in the streets. Even some politicians have been called out for sharing it on social media.
