House Republicans release Comey interview transcript

Source: CNN

(CNN) The House Judiciary and Oversight committees have released a transcript of former FBI Director James Comey's closed-door interview with the committees on Friday.

Lawmakers and Comey said that the interview was tense and that Republicans were frustrated by instructions from a Justice Department attorney telling Comey not to answer certain questions about the Russia investigation. Comey and House Democrats said the interview was a waste of time consumed with questions about Hillary Clinton's emails.

The transcript was released as part of a compromise struck by Comey and House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Virginia, who had initially subpoenaed Comey to appear behind closed doors.

Comey fought the subpoena in court, saying he would only testify if the proceedings were held in public. But he later backed down, agreeing to appear behind closed doors on the conditions that the transcript would be released as soon as possible and he would be free to speak about the interview afterward.

He asked about the texts between Strzok and Paige. He tried his best to make it look like the whole Russia investigation was biased and the Mueller was also biased.

11. Hell, even if it was started for biased reasons that doesn't make it illegitimate.

Even if the investigation was started by biased people that doesn't make the investigation illegitimate.

The crimes are still crimes and there is no doctrine in court they can claim to throw out the evidence and the convictions just because someone was biased against Trump. It's not the same thing as if a search warrant was improper and claiming the famous phrase we hear on TV all the time about "fruits of a poisonous tree."

I'd venture to say that prosecutors of all stripe are rather biased against criminals and criminal acts.

Bill Clinton was brought down because they kept search and searching and found a thing completely peripheral to Whitewater. But if they'd have found something legitimate with Hillary, they would have no problems seeing through an investigation that began with a bias.

All these e-mail and Benghazi "investigations" took time away from the REAL business they should have been conducting. Distractions, while the gop took in Russian money, and protected the REAL crook - tRump. They seem to forget that they were elected as "representatives" to pass laws to help their constituents, not slime a woman because she is more intelligent, more accomplished than all of them put together. No wonder they do not hold town hall meetings with their constituents. What have they accomplished?
