Christie: "Feds Have Evidence Against Trump Beyond Cohen"
Source: MSN.com
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said that President Donald Trumps team should be concerned about the indictment against Michael Cohen because the language used in it suggests that federal prosecutors have further corroborating evidence.
"The language in the sentencing memo is different from what we've heard before," Christie explained. "The only thing that would concern me if I was the president's team this morning about this sentencing memo is the language."
"The language sounds very definite. And what I'd be concerned about is, what corroboration do they have?" he continued. Because everyone knows that Michael Cohen is not going to be the most effective or trustworthy witness on the stand, given some of his past statements."
When prosecutors sound that definitive they've got more usually than just one witness."

I suspect that Mueller has additional witnesses and an extensive paper trail of evidence.

I'm sure the prosecutors have reams of evidence - audio tapes (remember Cohen taped everything and the FBI seized it all), documents, bank statements, phone records, etc.
AND, since the FISA court approved a wire tap on the Russian bank headquarters (which coincidentally had it's offices in trump tower), they have tapes of calls going out AND in to that bank office.
I wonder if they even know what "evidence" means. Clearly, they hope if they keep denying something, it will go away.

I think he's saying this stuff to remind Trump that he could have had Chris Christie on his team. Maybe he thinks he's auditioning for a DoJ job, I don't know. Regardless of what we think of him as a Governor, Christie was actually a fireball prosecutor in his day.

Hey idiots (not you, them!) wait for the trials!!!

I find it interesting that he's speaking out at this time. Makes me wonder what HE knows. Has he talked to Mueller as well ?

(4,341 posts)Well, there seems to be proof of "conspiring with Russia", the word "collusion" is not the problem, that is just a word repubs want to use to hide the real problem, because people do not seem to understand that "collusion" is the same as "conspiracy"...
Christie can claim that there has been no proof of collusion, but he doesn't know that, at this time he knows as much as everyone else outside of the Muller circle.

(3,426 posts)Let me bring it in with some blunt talk. In order to keep Donnie focused on his rage attacks which is helpful in the larger picture down investigative lines, the fed keeps it contained in two scoops, easy for Donnie to wrap his mind around. What most likely is going down is more of a power packed cone or a Roy'al Cone with many scoops . I say at current no rock hard evidence of collusion has been brought to the surface and that is most likely because, if it exists, it is kept out of sight deep within the cone !
On the flip side, Trump is considering kicking Pence under the bus ,that to consideration I would say there is no collusion because the back door to the oval office may be swinging open slowly and the only one I can see walking in is me !
The only way Trump will vacate the office of the presidency ,that is step down is having full assurance he will be granted a full pardon of any and all crimes. I can't think of anybody other than me going that far out there on the limb than just do it.
And that's a bridge I can get it over on !

lead to surgery that helped him reduce his weight. And friends of his, one in particular, convinced him to become a vegetarian.Surely such a pal wouldn't convince Christie to give up the the kind of food so good he wouldn't give up himself. 2 peas in a pod so goes the saying. He stayed with the sweets and no doubt falls off the wagon with that diet. He had the surgery when he was governor with plans to run for the presidency. Don't know what he ate for breakfast back than but I imagine it was a heap'en help'en of everything and

We need 20 Republican Senators to tell Trump he has to go. As supporters weaken, so will the requisite number of Senators.
